Provided herein is a method of and system for processing an optical fiber. The method includes the steps of drawing an optical fiber in a drawing direction along a process pathway through a coating chamber comprising an inlet and an outlet, and a coating liquid volume to coat the optical fiber; supplying the coating liquid through the inlet, the coating liquid exiting the coating chamber through the outlet; and recirculating to coating liquid exiting the coating chamber to the inlet.

Apparatuses and methods related to improving environmental protection and waste collection from application of deposition material using portable systems that are easier for operators to use on surfaces such as ship hulls are provided. Embodiments include a portable and repositionable deposition material applicator enclosure and application system for applying deposition material on a substrate employing non-adherent deposition material waste removal and selective enclosure coupling and decoupling structures or systems employing magnetic and suction or differential pressure based forces.

A device for staining or painting planks has an enclosure and a plank receiver for guiding a plank into the enclosure. At least one pair of vertical rollers are provided for engaging the plank received in the plank receiver. A lever may be positioned to contact the plank upon exit from the plank receiver. A linkage bar is affixed to the lever and to vertical rollers. Moving the lever by insertion of the plank moves the vertical rollers in preparation for receiving a leading edge of the plank. The vertical rollers are mounted on swing arms for facilitating adjustment of a space between the left vertical rollers and the right vertical rollers for accommodating planks of various thicknesses. Vertical sprayers are pivotally mounted and in communication with the swing arms for pivoting with the vertical rollers for maintaining a constant distance between the vertical rollers and the left vertical sprayer.

A spin dispenser module and methods for using the same is disclosed. The spin dispenser module includes a cup having a basin with sidewalls and an exhaust, a rotatable platform situated inside the cup adapted for holding and rotating a substrate, a liquid dispenser disposed over the rotatable platform for dispensing a liquid coating material on top of the substrate, one or more ejector inlets disposed over the rotatable platform, the one or more ejectors connected to a negative pressure source, and a motor coupled to the rotatable platform to rate the rotatable platform at different rotational speeds. The one or more ejector inlets may be translatable and/or rotatable with optionally adjustable suction pressure. The ejector inlets operate after a liquid coating material is dispensed to avoid deposition of suspended organic compounds after a coating is formed.

A method for controlling a recirculation pump assembly is disclosed. The method includes receiving a process-dependent characteristic and determining a recirculation flow rate of adhesive that flows to the recirculation pump assembly based on the process-dependent characteristic. The method further includes determining a recirculation pump speed of the recirculation pump assembly for pumping the adhesive to a supply channel using the recirculation flow rate, and adjusting an operating speed of the recirculation pump assembly to match the recirculation pump speed. A system and storage device for performing the above method are also disclosed.

An oral soluble film contains at least one active agent. Alternatively, a multi-layered film includes a plurality of layers, at least one at least one of the plurality of layers being an oral soluble film layer containing at least one active agent. The oral soluble film may be made, e.g., by a method comprising providing a well of a predetermined size; depositing a film forming composition in the well; metering a predetermined amount of an active agent composition in the well separately from the film forming composition, the active agent composition being different than the film forming composition, the film forming composition and the active agent composition forming a single layer in the well; and drying the single layer in the well to form the oral soluble film containing the at least one active agent. In some embodiments, a film made by deposit includes at least one non-cannabinoid bioactive agent and at least one cannabinoid.

An adhesive dispensing system for applying liquid adhesive to a substrate using different nozzles with the same manifold is disclosed. The adhesive dispensing system includes a manifold having a body, a first clamp configured to engage the body of the manifold, a second clamp configured to engage the body of the manifold, and a nozzle. The first and second clamps secure the nozzle to the body of the manifold. The body of the manifold has a first contact surface that engages the first clamp and a second contact surface that engages the second clamp and the nozzle, where the second contact surface is angularly offset from the first contact surface.

A substrate liquid processing apparatus includes a liquid processing unit configured to store a processing liquid and a substrate and process the substrate using the processing liquid, the processing liquid including a phosphoric acid aqueous solution; a phosphoric acid aqueous solution supply unit configured to supply the phosphoric acid aqueous solution to the liquid processing unit; a discharge line connected to the liquid processing unit, and configured to discharge the processing liquid; a return line switchably connected to the discharge line, and configured to return the processing liquid to the liquid processing unit; a recycling line switchably connected to the discharge line, and including a recycling unit configured to recycle the processing liquid; and a waste line switchably connected to the discharge line, and configured to discard the processing liquid to the outside.

The present invention relates to a method of applying absorbent gelling material (AGM) granules by indirect printing onto an carrier layer for use in an absorbent article, particularly diaper for babies or adults, training pants, pull-up diapers (diaper pants), sanitary napkins, panty liners or the like. These articles typically comprise the carrier layer with the AGM particles together with further layers, making up the complete article.
