The drive motor unit includes an output drive shaft connected to the pump and a drive motor configured to rotate the output drive shaft about a drive axis. The thermal isolation region is between the pump and the drive motor. The thermal isolation region includes an isolation plate and a thermal isolation frame. In one example, a cooling sleeve surrounds a proximal end portion of the drive motor unit so as to define an air flow passage between the proximal end portion of the drive motor unit and an inner surface of the cooling sleeve. In one example, the pump assembly further includes a coupling operatively connecting the pump and the drive shaft, the coupling including an insulating element therein.
ADHESIVE DISPENSING SYSTEM WITH CONVERTIBLE NOZZLE ASSEMBLIES
An adhesive dispensing system for applying liquid adhesive to a substrate using different nozzles with the same manifold is disclosed. The adhesive dispensing system includes a manifold having a body, a first clamp configured to engage the body of the manifold, a second clamp configured to engage the body of the manifold, and a nozzle. The first and second clamps secure the nozzle to the body of the manifold. The body of the manifold has a first contact surface that engages the first clamp and a second contact surface that engages the second clamp and the nozzle, where the second contact surface is angularly offset from the first contact surface.
SPRAY NOZZLE DEVICE FOR DELIVERING A RESTORATIVE COATING THROUGH A HOLE IN A CASE OF A TURBINE ENGINE
An atomizing spray nozzle device includes an atomizing zone housing that receives different phases of materials used to form a coating. The atomizing zone housing mixes the different phases of the materials into a two-phase mixture of ceramic-liquid droplets in a carrier gas. The device also includes a plenum housing fluidly coupled with the atomizing housing and extending from the atomizing housing to a delivery end. The plenum housing includes an interior plenum that receives the two-phase mixture of ceramic-liquid droplets in the carrier gas from the atomizing zone housing. The device also includes one or more delivery nozzles fluidly coupled with the plenum chamber. The delivery nozzles provide outlets from which the two-phase mixture of ceramic-liquid droplets in the carrier gas is delivered onto one or more surfaces of a target object as the coating on the target object.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR USE IN APPLYING A FLUID TO A SURFACE
A fluid applicator for use in a fluid application system includes a base plate comprising at least one rail and a housing slidably coupled to the base plate. The fluid applicator also includes a plurality of fluid permeable pads positioned within the housing and a fluid delivery conduit coupled to the base plate and to the housing. The fluid applicator further includes an actuator configured to selectively move the housing and the plurality of pads along the rails between a first position and a second position. The plurality of fluid permeable pads are in flow communication with the fluid delivery conduit in the first position, and the plurality of fluid permeable pads are prevented from being in flow communication with the fluid delivery conduit in the second position.
Segmented distribution assembly for distributing fluid to an applicator nozzle
An inner plate assembly for arrangement between top and bottom plates of an applicator for applying fluid-based chemicals to traveling sheets of textile substrates includes a plurality of interlocking plate segments. Each interlocking plate segment includes an outer frame segment and one or more baffle member segments supported by the outer frame segment. Each interlocking plate segment further includes a first interlocking structure disposed at a first end thereof and a second interlocking structure at a second, opposite end thereof to facilitate end-to-end interlocking arrangement of the plurality of interlocking plate segments.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING LIQUID ADHESIVE FLOW
A hot melt adhesive system includes an adhesive supply for receiving solid or semi-solid hot melt adhesive, and a heater associated with the adhesive supply for melting the solid or semi-solid hot melt adhesive into liquid hot melt adhesive. An adhesive tracking system monitors an output of the liquid hot melt adhesive, and includes a flow meter having a flow inlet and a flow outlet. The flow meter measures an amount of the adhesive flowing out of the flow outlet. A product detector may be used to sense a presence of a product to which the adhesive is applied. A controller then determines the total amount of the liquid adhesive dispensed and the average amount of liquid adhesive dispensed per product.
Apparatus and methods for use in applying a fluid to a surface
A fluid application system includes a pair of identical, spaced apart, fluid applicators that each include a fluid permeable pad saturated with fluid. In one implementation, each applicator includes a pair of conduits coupled to a base plate, wherein each conduit includes a slot configured to receive an end of the pad. In another embodiment, each applicator defines a reservoir between adjacent plates and channels fluid from the reservoir though openings in the plate to the pad. In another implementation, each of the applicators includes a base plate, a conduit coupled to the base plate, and a housing slidably coupled to the base plate. The housing includes a plurality of pads and is moveable to selectively prevent fluid flow between the conduit and the pads in a first position or to couple the pads in fluid communication with the conduit in the second position.
Treatment solution supply apparatus and treatment solution supply method
A treatment solution supply apparatus supplies a treatment solution to a solution treatment apparatus which applies the treatment solution to a substrate to perform a predetermined treatment. Plural solution treatment apparatuses are supply destinations of the treatment solution. The treatment solution supply apparatus includes: a sending unit common among the solution treatment apparatuses, the sending unit sends the treatment solution stored in a treatment solution supply source to each of the solution treatment apparatuses; and a control unit that controls the sending unit. The sending unit includes pumps that suck the treatment solution and load the treatment solution thereinto and send the loaded treatment solution. The control unit controls suction timing of each of the pumps so that one (or more) of the pumps becomes in a state capable of sending the treatment solution to the solution treatment apparatuses at all times.
