The systems regulate the pressure of the system by, for example, coordinating the pressure provided by a pressure source with the pressure released when a droplet is dispensed. Alternatively, or in addition to the above, a pressure regulator may be used to maintain the coating liquid in equilibrium and permitting the dispensation of a droplet when a piston actuator contacts a micropipe. A robotic arm can be used to apply the coating to a substrate, such as a military aircraft.
