A preform coating device is provided with: a rotational holding part that horizontally holds a preform and rotates the preform about the axis of the preform, and that grasps a spout of the preform; a conveyance part that conveys the preform by moving the rotational holding part; a dispenser that discharges a coating liquid toward the preform; a preform support part that supports the bottom-side end of the cylindrical barrel of the preform while the dispenser is discharging the coating liquid; and a spout support part that supports the outer circumferential surface of the spout of the preform while the dispenser is discharging the coating liquid.

An apparatus for coating or mixing of loose items is provided. The apparatus includes a rotatable bowl shaped to contain a quantity of loose items for coating or mixing as the bowl is rotated. The rotatable bowl includes a plurality of discharge openings. A drive shaft is configured to rotatably support the bowl. A closure ring is positioned to close the discharge openings. The closure ring is retractable while the rotatable bowl is rotating to allow coated or mixed items to fall through the openings to unload the coated items from the rotatable bowl after coating/mixing is complete.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PREPARING A CYLINDRICAL OBJECT FOR DECORATING THEREON
An apparatus (200) and method for preparing a cylindrical object having a protective surface coating, such as a necked can (100), for decorating thereon using a printing technique. According to the method, a primer is applied onto the surface coating, and the primer is then dried to form a surface for decorating the object. The apparatus comprises a priming station (260) for applying a primer onto said surface coating, and a drying station (270) for drying the primer.
LINER MACHINE FOR APPLYING SEALING COMPOUND
A liner machine for applying a sealing compound to a can end or lid. The liner machine includes a motor drive dual turret system. The turret system is installed at the top of a table or platform surface and two turrets rotate in opposition directions from one another, simultaneously or independently at same or different times. Each turret includes a plurality of workstations which extend out from each turret facing away from each other. The workstations receive an individual lid, which is delivered via a starwheel from a downstacker to each turret system. Each rotates in a direction that is opposite the direction that its respective turret system rotates, and in a direction that is opposite the direction that the other starwheel rotates. Sealant injectors in the turret systems apply sealant to each lid as the lids rotate around each turret system.

A liner machine for applying a sealing compound to a can end or lid. The liner machine includes a motor drive dual turret system. The turret system is installed at the top of a table or platform surface and two turrets rotate in opposition directions from one another, simultaneously or independently at same or different times. Each turret includes a plurality of workstations which extend out from each turret facing away from each other. The present invention provides a preform coating device (5) provided with: a rotating and holding part (9) that holds a preform (1) in a horizontal direction, and rotates the preform (1) about an axis (A) of the preform (1); and a dispenser (6) that has a slot (62) and discharges a coating liquid in a plane form from the slot (62) to the preform (1), wherein the discharge direction of the coating liquid is the direction of the normal to an outer peripheral surface of the preform (1).
