The present invention is directed to a plunger, a plunger assembly, and a system for storing a substance or substances, preferably flowable substances, and a method of filling and sealing a substance in a storing system. In particular, the present invention provides for substantially air-free filling and storing of substances in a delivery system.

A paint applicator, kit and methodology for using the same is disclosed. For example, a paint applicator that allows a user to load a desired amount of paint, such as a water based or other low VOC paint, into the paint applicator and an advancement mechanism that dispenses paint at a rate controllable by the user is disclosed. The advancement mechanism can include a system that translates a rotational force applied to an end cap of the applicator into a linear force that advances a piston which in turn applies paint to an applicator portion. The paint applicator may be reusable or may include a ratchet system that allows for only one time use. The methodology and kit can incorporate a syringe for loading paint into the paint applicator, thus reducing the loss of paint through spilling.

The invention relates to any field that requires suctioning and/or dispensing fluids of various viscosities (i.e. oil, grease or other like fluids) through a nozzle into a container or mechanical assembly (such as but not limited to robotic RV reducers used in industrial robotic arms, general purpose gearboxes used in various mechanical assemblies such as conveyors and internal combustion engines) for the purposes of transfer of fluids (such as but not limited to lubricating a system, injecting lubricant fluids into light and heavy industrial machines etc). This apparatus can be used in fluid transfer, dispensing and injection applications requiring monitoring of flow pressure and volume.

The invention relates to a method for filling a cartridge with a flowable component, the method comprising the steps of: providing a cartridge with a cartridge chamber, the cartridge having a piston arranged in the cartridge chamber, the cartridge chamber and the piston defining a storage volume, the piston having a through-hole, arranging a filling nozzle at the through-hole and filling the cartridge by dispensing the flowable component through the through-hole of the piston into the storage volume.

A fluid transfer system includes a viscous fluid tube having a viscous fluid disposed therein and an outlet. A transfer nozzle includes an engagement end configured to penetrate the outlet of the viscous fluid tube. A transfer end is in fluid communication with the engagement end and is configured to relay the viscous fluid to a receiving reservoir. A grip is configured to aid a user in rotating the transfer nozzle in relation to the viscous fluid tube and the receiving reservoir.

An applicator for a fluid ingredient includes at least one storage chamber, at least one first predetermined breaking point or line configured in or at the storage chamber, and an actuation mechanism. The storage chamber has an outlet end with an initially sealed outlet via which a fluid ingredient can be output. An alternative embodiment includes a lockable, compressible gas spring. Another alternative embodiment includes a rotating element driven by a reversible motor mounted on the handle assembly. The rotating element drives a discharge mechanism in a discharge direction of rotation, and reloads the reservoir in a reload direction of rotation.
