A self-sealing and self-centering piston has a domed piston plate and a substantially cylindrical skirt section. The skirt section joins the rear of the piston plate. A gap having a depth is formed between a first portion of the skirt section and a front lamella. A rear lamella adjoins the front lamella. In addition, a second section of the skirt section has a first seal and a second seal.

Apparatuses and methods related to a high pressure fluid processing device having a dual check valve setup that can be quickly and easily maintained with replacement parts are disclosed herein. In a general example embodiment, a high pressure processing device includes a body including a first surface having a first recess, a second surface having a second recess, and a third surface having a third recess, a first subassembly at least partially inserted into the first recess of the body, the first subassembly including a first check valve, a second subassembly at least partially inserted into the second recess of the body, the second subassembly including a second check valve, and a third subassembly at least partially inserted into the third recess of the body, the third subassembly coupling the body to a fluid driving mechanism, wherein the first subassembly, second subassembly and third subassembly are configured to be independently attachable to and detachable from the first recess, second recess and third recess, respectively.

A disposable roof coating applicator includes a nozzle that is attached to a collar. The nozzle and collar are selectively attachable to a body that has an interior space and is formed by at least one side wall having an exterior wall and an interior wall. The coating applicator also includes a plunger that is movably disposed within the interior space of the body. The coating applicator may include a locking mechanism about the applicator's collar that selectively engages a stud provided on the body's exterior surface, selectively locking and unlocking the nozzle and collar assembly to the body. Cartridge system for mixing and applying a mix of a medical cement. Cartridges are arranged parallel to each other and an outlet opening. The cartridges each comprise at least one opening that connect(s) the cartridges to the outlet opening, and the cartridges are bordered laterally through cartridge walls. Each cartridge comprises a feed plunger for expelling starting components of the mix from the cartridges through the openings. The feed plungers are fixedly connected to each other through at least one fin. The cartridge walls of the cartridges are connected through the fin(s). The walls comprise slits that are arranged parallel to the cartridge axis, whereby the width of the slits is well-suited for taking up the fin or fins, and the at least one fin moves through regions of the slits when the feed plungers perform a motion in the cartridges.

The film bag is or can be accommodated in a cylindrical receptacle having a circular inner cross-section A. The film bag inserted into the cylindrical receptacle is supported at a proximal end of the cylindrical receptacle against a closing cap that closes off the cylindrical receptacle at an end of the cylindrical receptacle. Coupling devices are provided on the cylindrical receptacle and/or the closing cap, which coupling devices ensure that the inner cross-section A of the cylindrical receptacle overlaps with an inner cross-section B of the closing cap within a tolerance relative to the wall thickness W of the closing cap on the distal side of the closing cap facing the cylindrical receptacle.

A kit for converting a gun-type sauce dispenser to dispense flowable materials such as sauces from flexible-walled containers comprises a nose piece, a dispensing tube and a supplemental piston. The nose piece has a forward end adapted to be attached to an end stop of the sauce dispenser. An opening extends axially through the nose piece. The nosepiece is adapted to be coupled to the dispensing tube such that the dispensing tube is held axially relative to the nose piece. A top sheet of a flexible-walled container may be retained between the nose piece and the dispensing tube. The nose piece may comprise a member arranged to tension the end sheet of the container.

Storage and mixing systems and methods for pasty multicomponent polymethylmethacrylate bone cements, the systems and methods comprise a first tubular cartridge with a first cylindrical internal space containing a first starting component, a first dispensing plunger, a second tubular cartridge that is arranged within the first tubular cartridge. The external wall of the second cartridge touches against the internal wall of the first cartridge and is attached to the internal wall of the first cartridge, whereby the second cartridge contains a second starting component and has a second dispensing plunger arranged in it, whereby a pressing device with a clamping edge for compressing the second cartridge that can be propelled axially in the internal space of the first cartridge is arranged, as seen from the cartridge head, behind the first dispensing plunger and the second dispensing plunger. The pressing device can be propelled appropriately in the direction of the cartridge head such that the second cartridge is being progressively compressed axially during the motion of the pressing device such that, in the process, the first dispensing plunger and the second dispensing plunger are propelled in the direction of the cartridge head.

The invention relates to a piston, in particular, for use as a discharge and/or locking piston of a cartridge comprising a base body (25) having a lateral wall provided with sealants (14, 17) and a front-end wall having a vent (21). A locking element (18) is mounted rotatable in the vent (21), whereby a venting channel (23, 24) can be opened or closed by the relative rotation of the locking element (18) in the vent (21). Additionally, the invention relates to a cartridge configuration having such a piston.

The present invention provides a plunger (20) for a dispenser, the plunger including a large diameter body portion (23) provided with ring-shaped contact surfaces (24, 25) that contact an inner wall surface of a syringe, a rear opening (26) formed in a backside of the large diameter body portion (23), and a small diameter body portion (22) provided with a front opening (28), wherein the front opening (28) is formed in a size allowing a liquid material to be directly pressed by pressurized air, and allowing at least the plunger (20) to move following a fall in water head position, which is caused with discharge and consumption of the liquid material. With those features, the liquid material can be prevented from adhering to the inner wall surface of the syringe, and the liquid material in the syringe can be prevented from flowing backwards.
