Method for finishing work of spray-coated surface and working tool
In a method for a finishing work of a spray-coated surface, an inner surface of a cylindrical hollow member is roughened by forming a helical groove thereon. A thermal spray coating is formed on the inner surface that is roughened, and a finishing work is carried out by cutting the thermal spray coating along a helix of the groove by use of a cutting tool. According to the method for a finishing work, a finishing work of a thermal spray coating with non-uniform hardness can be carried out efficiently.
Coated oilfield operational components and methods for protecting and extending the service life of oilfield operational components
Coating compositions for coating an oilfield operational component, and related methods, may include in some aspects a coating composition having a trifunctional silane, a silanol, and a filler. The coating composition may be applied to a surface of the oilfield operational component that is configured to be exposed to a fluid. The coating composition may be applied to at least partially cover or coat the surface. The coating composition may be configured to chemically bond with a cured primer composition that includes an epoxy.

METHOD OF COATING AN ARTICLE, WATER SOLUBLE PLUG FOR PREVENTING HOLE BLOCKAGE DURING COATING, AND ARTICLE HAVING HOLES MASKED WITH A WATER SOLUBLE PLUG PASTE
A method includes masking at least one hole of an article with a paste, wherein the hole opens onto a surface of the article, applying a coating to the surface of the article, and removing the paste including contacting the paste with a water containing liquid/environment to dissolve or re-disperse the paste, leaving at least one open hole in the surface of the coated article. The paste includes about 20-80 wt % of a filler material, about 0.5-20 wt % of a hydrogen phosphate compound, about 0.5-15 wt % of a polyhydroxy compound and about 5-25 wt % of water. The filler material has an average particle size in a range of about 0.1-100 microns, and includes a first material which includes alkali metal doped alumina, zirconium oxide, titanium oxide or a combination thereof and a second material which includes a silicate. A weight ratio between the first and second materials is in a range of about 1-10.

Method and device for regenerating the interior surfaces of conduits by means of thermal spraying of metals
A method for regeneration of internal conduit surfaces by thermal projection of metals, includes inserting a device including a vehicle having a rolling assembly to permit rolling of the vehicle and carrying a thermal projection system, through a manhole in a conduit installation, including the steps of inserting the device in a conduit with the rolling assembly in a retracted position, and expanding the rolling assembly inside the conduit until the device is centered in the conduit; inserting electrical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic conduits and conduits for supplying metal to be thermally projected, through the manhole, such that the conduits are connected with the vehicle; positioning a regeneration device including the thermal projection system connected with the vehicle by a remote-control pulling system in a particular position to be regenerated; thermally projecting metal from the regeneration device; advancing the vehicle and connected regeneration device to a new regeneration position.

Flame-applied resin powder coating for swimming pool and recreational surfaces
Application of a resin to a pool surface to provide a colored finish that is ultraviolet resistant. The resin may be a powder that can be melted at a fairly low temperature and applied to the pool surface. A first later of resin may be applied (thermally sprayed) to an epoxy layer that is applied to the pool surface after the epoxy has become tacky and before it has cured to provide better adhesion and cause the resin and the epoxy to blend into a single layer. An additional layer of resin may be applied after the epoxy and the first layer of resin fully cured. After the second layer of resin has cured an additional layer may be applied to provide designs and/or markings. The designs/markings may be produced with tape and/or stencils and the next layer may be applied to the non-covered areas to provide the desired look.
METHOD FOR APPLYING A PARTIAL COATING
A method for applying a partial coating to a metallic substrate including providing a substrate to be coated, inserting the substrate into a reactive area of a thermal source, inserting precursor compounds into the reactive area of the thermal source to produce coating additives, and coating of the substrate through the coating additives produced within the reactive area of the thermal source.
Method for forming film layer and substrate including the film layer
A method of forming a film layer and a substrate comprising the film layer to reduce occurrence of defects and improve the quality of the film layer are described. The method of forming a film layer comprises forming a plurality of sub-film layers of a same material overlapped with each other on a substrate by multiple steps to constitute the film layer, wherein each time a sub-film layer is formed, the newly-formed sub-film layer is cleaned immediately. The substrate comprises a film layer formed by the above method.
