TRANSFER FILM AND MEMBRANE COVERINGS FOR PANEL PRODUCTS
A membrane covered panel and a membrane covered panel production method are provided wherein an elastomeric membrane, and preferably, an aqueous elastomeric resin-based membrane, is applied to a finished panel construct, prior to pressing of the membrane covered panel. The method is used to produce panels which can be used in the production of flooring materials, wall panels, furniture, countertops, and the like. The membrane is applied to a transfer film, which transfer film can be removed at any time prior to, or after the pressing operation. The panels produced have a durable but elastic surface which can protect the surfaces of the panel construct. The elastomeric covering on the panel construct also preferably provides a surface which is abrasion resistant, and provides better acoustical properties while providing a soft touch haptic surface.
STRUCTURALLY-COLORED ARTICLES AND METHODS FOR MAKING AND USING STRUCTURALLY-COLORED ARTICLES
One or more aspects of the present disclosure are directed to components having an optical element that imparts structural color to the component or article. The present disclosure is also directed to articles of manufacture including the component having an optical element, and methods for making components and articles having an optical element that imparts structural color.
Method for coating thin film in rolling manner and apparatus for coating thin film by using the same
A method for coating a thin film in a rolling manner and a thin film coating apparatus are provided. The method includes: floating a thin film material on a liquefied material; rolling a cylindrical substrate after contacting the cylindrical substrate with the thin film material; and coating the thin film material on a surface of the cylindrical substrate by using an attraction force between the surface of the cylindrical substrate and the thin film material.
Nonconductive films for lighter than air balloons
Non-conductive films for constructing lighter than air balloons are provided. A non-conductive film may comprise multiple layers of gas barrier polymers. An outer surface printable layer and an interior heat or ultrasonically sealable layer may also be included. Each gas barrier film may comprise multiple (e.g., from 3 to approximately 75) barrier layers. A gas barrier core has a nano-layer structure. A gas barrier core may also comprise a biodegradable film or a bio-based film. A non-conductive film may comprise a metal layer for enhancing gas barrier properties. The metal layer may be discontinuous. The metal layer may be conductive and coated with an insulating top coat.
CURABLE COATING MATERIAL FOR NON-IMPACT PRINTING
Coating material (237) being processable by non-impact printing to form at least a part of a coating layer (206) representing an image; the coating material (237) comprising an amorphous resin portion and being curable; the coating material (237) being configured for being applied with a thickness of at least 15 m; wherein preferably the coating material (237) is configured for being applied with a thickness of at least 20 in particular with a thickness of at least 30 further in particular with a thickness of at least 40 m; the coating material comprising one or more of the following: (i) a polyester resin comprising at least one incorporated acid monomer and wherein at least 10 weight percent of the at least one incorporated acid monomer is isophthalic acid; (ii) a polyester resin containing 1 to 100 w-% of cycloaliphatic glycol compounds with respect to the total weight of the glycol compounds of the polyester resin component, in particular 2,2,4,4-tetraalkylcyclobutane-1,3-diol and/or 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol; (iii) an acrylic resin; (iv) a fluorine containing polymer, in particular a hydroxyl functional fluorine polymer; (v) a polyurethane resin.
Leather edge painting and process thereof
The present invention relates to a process for leather edge painting. More particularly, the present invention relates to the process [200] wherein the liquid edge paint is converted to solid colour sticker film [205]. More particularly, the present invention relates to the process wherein the liquid edge paint is converted to solid colour sticker film on a transparent film [205], and transferring [207] from the transparent paper to the edges of a substrate material. Further, the process of the present invention provides liquid edge paint transferred to the substrate edge for one or more applications.
STRUCTURALLY-COLORED ARTICLES AND METHODS FOR MAKING AND USING STRUCTURALLY-COLORED ARTICLES
One or more aspects of the present disclosure provide articles of manufacture and components of articles that incorporate an optical element that imparts structural color to the component or the article. The component comprises a cured or curable material, and can include or be made to have a textured surface.
METHOD PROVIDING A WORKPIECE WITH A THREE-DIMENSIONALLY TEXTURED SURFACE COATING
The present invention refers to a method for decorating a material comprising the steps of: applying a three-dimensional layer (110) by inkjet printing on at least a part of a support (100). Apply one or more of the following layers on at least a part of the support on which the three-dimensional layer has been created: release layer, texturing layer (120), decorative layer (130), white layer (140), colored layer, functional layer, adhesive layer (150). Apply the transferable decoration on at least part of a material (160) to be decorated. Remove the support (100). Reveal the 3D.
METHODS OF PASSIVATING ADHESIVES
Methods of passivating an adhesive via printing an ink onto a release liner, and adhesive articles or products made by the same are provided. An ink pattern is printed onto a release liner to form a pattern of features. The features are at least partially embedded in an adhesive layer such that when the release liner is peeled from the adhesive layer, the passivation features remain with the layer of adhesive to form selected areas having adjusted adhesive functionality. Articles including the passivated adhesive on a release liner are also disclosed.
