COATED PANEL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A COATED PANEL
The present invention relates to a method for the manufacturing of a coated panel, in particular a wall, ceiling or flooring panel for applications in outdoor areas, as well as such a panel. The method comprises the following steps: providing a carrier plate of mineral wool and/or glass wool, comprising a front side and a rear side, applying a primer onto the front side of the carrier plate, thereafter applying a liquid first oligomer in an amount of 30 to 150 g/m.sup.2 onto the front side of the carrier plate; thereafter applying a liquid second oligomer, which differs from the first oligomer, in an amount of 30 to 180 g/m.sup.2 onto the wet surface of the before applied layer of the first oligomer.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR COATING SUBSTRATES WITH WASHCOATS
An apparatus and method of coating a substrate (110) with a washcoat, comprising: engaging the substrate with a headset (6) of a substrate coating apparatus (100) so as to locate an upper surface of the substrate below a washcoat showerhead of the substrate coating apparatus; discharging a washcoat out of the washcoat showerhead towards the upper surface of the substrate; drawing the washcoat through the substrate by applying a suction force to a lower surface of the substrate.
The step of engaging the substrate with the headset comprises engaging a headset seal (115) of the headset with the substrate, the headset seal (115) comprising a perimetral portion (116) extending around the headset and a cantilevered portion (117) extending down from the perimetral portion which engages against a sidewall of the substrate.
Curtain die for applying a liquid release agent to a shingle substrate
An asphalt shingle manufacturing machine that includes a curtain die for applying a liquid release layer on an asphalt coated substrate. The moisture of the liquid release layer evaporates leaving a dispersed solid particulate release layer. The curtain die includes a first body section and a second body section with a shim disposed between the body sections to define a distribution channel. The second body section may include chamber manifold defined therein to store a volume of liquid release agent. The distribution channel places the chamber manifold in fluid communication with a discharge outlet of the curtain die in order to disperse a volume of liquid release agent from a chamber manifold out of the discharge outlet. The shim may be configured to define a width of the distribution channel to determine the flow rate and discharge pattern of the liquid release agent.
Laminate, surface-protected articles, and manufacturing method of the laminate
The invention of the present application is a laminate in which thermoplastic polyurethane is used, excellent antifouling and adhesion properties are obtained, and glue residue is minimized. The laminate is provided with a substrate film formed from thermoplastic polyurethane, and an adhesive layer formed on one surface side of the substrate film. The substrate film has a surface layer on the opposite side of the first surface, a mixture of the thermoplastic polyurethane and a curable resin composition being present in the surface layer. The content ratio of the curable resin composition is configured so as to gradually decrease from the surface of the surface layer towards the interior of the substrate film. The curable resin composition contains at least one fluorine compound selected from the group consisting of fluorosilsesquioxane and fluorosilsesquioxane polymers, and a curable resin. The adhesive layer has a surface roughness of 350-750 nm.
METHODS FOR CURTAIN COATING SUBSTRATES
Methods of curtain coating substrates are disclosed. In some embodiments, the methods include applying two or more liquid layers simultaneously to a substrate, wherein the multiple layers include a bottom liquid layer comprising a shear thinning liquid, and another liquid layer comprising a viscoelastic liquid. In some embodiments, the disclosed methods include formulating a bottom layer liquid comprising a shear thinning liquid, formulating another layer liquid comprising a viscoelastic liquid, pumping the bottom layer liquid and the other layer liquid through coating dies simultaneously and onto a moving substrate such that the bottom layer liquid impinges on the substrate thereby forming a bottom layer, and the other layer liquid forms another liquid layer above the bottom liquid layer. The inclusion of a bottom liquid layer comprising a shear thinning liquid and other layer comprising a viscoelastic liquid provides for enlargement of the curtain coating window.
System for non-contact coating of moving component through a falling flow of coating material
An apparatus for coating an object or component includes at least one dispenser for dispensing a falling flow of material and an actuator for projecting the component through the falling flow of material. A landing may also be provided for receiving the coated projectile, the landing adapted for providing a second coating to the coated projectile. Related methods are also disclosed.
Hybrid coating process
The invention provides coating processes for producing finished fibrous panels comprising applying a prime coat onto at least one side of the fibrous panel by curtain coating; and applying a finish coat over the prime coat by spray coating.
CURTAIN APPLICATOR
An applicator head for a curtain applicator for coating a continuous material web with liquid or pasty application medium. The applicator head has an outlet edge extending substantially over the width of the applicator head. The application medium passes out of the applicator head in a free-falling curtain. A rinsing device allows the outlet edge to be supplied with a flowing gaseous rinsing medium. There is also described a method for coating a continuous material web by way of such a curtain applicator. The application medium passes out of the applicator head in the form of a free-falling curtain and subsequently comes into contact with the material web. The region of at least one of the outlet edges can be supplied with a flowing gaseous rinsing medium.
Curtain coating device and curtain coating method
A curtain coating device includes a curtain coating member, a conveyance unit, a separation member, and a base material supporting member. The curtain coating member creates a curtain-like film of coating liquid and makes the curtain-like film flow down. The conveyance unit conveys a base material to which the curtain-like film is to be applied. The separation member includes a receiving portion inclined downward from inside to outside in a width direction of the curtain-like film, and separates an end portion of the curtain-like film having flowed down by receiving the end portion with the receiving portion above the base material. The base material supporting member is disposed inside in the width direction of the curtain-like film than the receiving portion of the separation member, and supports the base material on an upper side flat portion while the base material is being conveyed.
AERATED MELTABLE WAX APPLICATION ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME
An aerated wax application assembly comprises a meltable wax applicator, one or more meltable wax delivery conduits having a first end coupled to the meltable wax inlet of the meltable wax applicator and a second end positioned proximate a meltable wax holding tank, and an air injection system positioned upstream from the meltable wax applicator and configured to inject air into the meltable wax and generate the aerated meltable wax upstream of the inlet of the meltable wax applicator. A method of applying an aerated meltable wax onto an object comprises injecting air into a meltable wax such that it forms an aerated meltable wax, delivering the aerated wax through one or more meltable wax delivery conduits to a meltable wax applicator, and contacting at least one exposed surface of the object with the aerated wax when dispensing the aerated meltable wax from an outlet of the meltable wax applicator.
