POLYMER-BASED SUBSTRATE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
A polymer-based substrate is proposed, which in particular is electrostatically coatable, wherein the substrate comprises a substrate base body made using a polymeric material and a coating applied to a surface region of the substrate base body, wherein the polymeric material comprises a first polymer, wherein the coating comprises a matrix polymer and an additive which is dispersed in the matrix polymer and reduces the surface resistance of the coating, said additive having a proportion that is selected such that the specific surface resistance of the coating is about 10.sup.10 Ohm or less, and wherein the matrix polymer is selected such that it is compatible with the first polymer.
TONE RING AND ATTACHMENT STRUCTURE
A tone ring attachment for a disc brake rotor. The disc brake rotor has a disc portion that includes a plurality of circumferentially-spaced lugs. Each one of the lugs has a groove. A discrete tone ring body has a plurality of bosses. Each one of the bosses is receivable in a respective one of the grooves in the lugs. A dart projection extends from at least one of the bosses. The dart projection engages a respective one of the lugs to inhibit relative axial movement and relative rotational movement in at least one direction between the tone ring and the disc brake rotor. A tab is formed on at least one of the bosses. The tab is engageable with a portion of the lug to inhibit relative rotational movement in a second direction opposite the first direction between the tone ring and disc brake rotor.
COATED SUBSTRATES AND METHODS OF PREPARING THE SAME
The present invention relates to a substrate having (a) a first material applied to at least a portion of the substrate, and (b) a coating layer deposited from a powder coating composition including a film-forming resin, and optionally a crosslinker that is reactive with the film-forming resin, in direct contact with at least a portion of the substrate to which the first material has been applied. The first material is (i) a catalyst that catalyzes cure of the powder coating composition, (ii) a component reactive with the film-forming resin and/or the crosslinker of the powder coating composition, and/or (iii) a rheology modifier.
Process for powder coating of objects
In a powder coating process, a primer step is implemented prior to electrostatically applying the powder coating, either in advance of preheating the object to be coated or subsequent thereto, depending upon the selection of materials used in the object to be coated, the primer material being diluted fabric softener applied in a fine mist spray or fog to the object.

POWDER COATING (ELECTROSTATIC PAINTING) METHOD AND PLANT FOR NON ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE ELEMENTS, AND IN PARTICULAR BRAKE PADS
A method and system for powder coating non electrically conductive elements, preferably brake pads. A pre-treatment station is upstream of an electrostatic powder coating deposition station and a baking station for melting and polymerizing the powder coating in order to form a coating layer on a surface to be coated. The pre-treatment station causes the elements to be coated to conduct electrically by uniformly wetting said elements by means of creating poorly mineralized water covalent bonds on at least one surface to be coated, in an amount aimed at producing a measurable weight increase in the non electrically conductive elements, which then causes them to conduct electrically. The water adsorbed and/or deposited is subsequently eliminated within the baking station.
