Flow aid for an infusion arrangement for infiltrating a resin into a fiber material
A flow aid for an infusion arrangement for infiltrating a resin into a fiber material, wherein at least two different resin-permeable plies, which lie atop one another and are joined to one another in the region of their faces lying atop one another, with one ply being a peel ply which on its exposed face is covered sectionally or over the full area with an adhesive agent, which is covered with a removable protective ply, or which can be activated after the mounting of the flow aid.
OUTLET-COATED CERAMIC HONEYCOMB BODIES AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING SAME
A coated ceramic honeycomb body comprising a honeycomb structure comprising a matrix of intersecting porous walls forming a plurality of axially-extending channels, at least some of the plurality of axially-extending channels being plugged to form inlet channels and outlet channels, wherein a total surface area of the outlet channels is greater than a total surface area of the inlet channels, and wherein a catalyst is preferentially located within the outlet channels, and preferentially disposed on non-filtration walls of the outlet channels. Methods and apparatus configured to preferentially apply a catalyst-containing slurry to the outlet channels and non-filtration walls are provided, as are other aspects.
SURFACE TREATMENT AGENT
A surface-treating agent including () a compound represented by the following formula (1) or formula (2) and () a perfluoropolyether group-containing silane compound having an OCF.sub.2 unit:

APPARATUS FOR COATING A FILTER SUBSTRATE
An apparatus of coating a filter substrate comprising a plurality of channels and an apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus comprises: (i) a containment means for receiving a pre-determined amount of the liquid; and (ii) a liquid dosing head arranged to dispense the pre-determined amount of the liquid into the containment means over an upper end of the filter substrate. The containment means is locatable at an upper end of the filter substrate; and the liquid dosing head comprises a plurality of apertures for dispensing the liquid onto the upper end of the filter substrate.
METHODS FOR ENHANCING THE PRESERVATION OF CELLULOSIC MATERIALS AND CELLULOSIC MATERIALS PREPARED THEREBY
Methods for treating cellulosic materials comprising introducing a liquid treating composition into the cellulosic material, the treating composition comprising a solution prepared from at least: (i) one or more of a copper amine complex or copper ammine complex, such as copper tetraamine carbonate, (ii) one or more of ammonia or a water-soluble amine and (iii) water; and exposing the cellulosic material provided thereby to carbon dioxide and/or carbonic acid to provide treated cellulosic material, and treated cellulosic materials prepared thereby.
IMPLEMENTING THE POST-POROSITY PLASMA PROTECTION (P4) PROCESS USING I-CVD
Provided is a pore-filling method for protecting the pores of a porous material. The method, which is performed using a modified i-CVD technique, involves filling the pores of a porous material with a gas phase monomer within a pressure chamber and subsequently polymerizing the monomer, both within the pores and on the surface of the material as an overburden. The method is solvent-free and can fill and protect pores of any size of any material.
Method and device for processing microstructure arrays of polystyrene-graphene nanocomposites
A device for processing microstructure arrays of polystyrene-graphene nanocomposites, including a laser generator, a vacuum chamber, an object stage, an ultraviolet filter and a gas flow control unit. The object stage is detachably fixed to a bottom of the vacuum chamber with a passage that can be opened or closed. The ultraviolet filter is provided in the vacuum chamber. A laser light emitted by the laser generator arrives at the object stage through the ultraviolet filter. The object stage is configured to place a sample to be processed. The gas flow control unit is communicated with the vacuum chamber and is configured to control the flow of the gas entering the vacuum chamber. The vacuum chamber is fixed on a three-axis precision positioning platform via a vacuum chamber clamp. The device disclosed herein aims to solve the existing difficulty in processing microstructure arrays of polystyrene-graphene nanocomposites.
Wet friction material production methods
A method of producing a friction material. The method includes mixing silica containing filler particles and a liquid binder to form a binder-filler liquid mixture. The method also includes saturating a fibrous base material with the binder-filler liquid mixture to form a saturated fibrous base material. The method further includes curing the saturated fibrous base material at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time to cure the saturated fibrous base material to form the friction material.
Reactor for Coating Particles in Stationary Chamber with Rotating Paddles
A reactor for coating particles includes a stationary vacuum chamber to hold a bed of particles to be coated, a vacuum port in an upper portion of the chamber, a chemical delivery system configured to inject a reactant or precursor gas into a lower portion of the chamber, a paddle assembly, and a motor to rotate a drive shaft of the paddle assembly. The lower portion of the chamber forms a half-cylinder. The paddle assembly includes a rotatable drive shaft extending through the chamber along the axial axis of the half cylinder, and a plurality of paddles extending radially from the drive shaft such that rotation of the drive shaft by the motor orbits the plurality of paddles about the drive shaft.
Broadband and Omnidirectional Polymer Antireflection Coatings
A method for generating antireflective coatings for polymeric substrates using a deposition process and/or a dissolving process can provide a coating onto the outer surface of the substrate. Some embodiments can include a GLAD generated fluoropolymer coating or a co-evaporated fluoropolymer coating on a substrate that may achieve ultralow refractive index as well as improved adhesion and durability properties on polymeric substrates. In some embodiments, the deposition process is performed such that a fluoropolymer can be evaporated to form chain fragments of the fluoropolymer. The chain fragments diffused into the substrate can subsequently re-polymerize, interlocking with the polymer chains of the substrate. In some embodiments, the co-evaporation process can form a nanoporous polymer chain scaffold of the fluoropolymer, from which a sacrificial material can be dissolved out. The formed coating can be a multilayer or continuously-graded antireflective coating that has strong adhesion with the substrate.
