AQUEOUS COATING COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR FORMING A COATING FILM
The objective of the present invention is to provide an aqueous coating composition which has excellent curability at low temperatures. The present invention provides an aqueous coating composition which contains an aqueous resin having a hydroxyl group and a carboxyl group (A), a water-dispersible blocked polyisocyanate compound (B), a hydrophilicized carbodiimide compound (C), and an aqueous polyurethane resin (D), wherein the aqueous resin having a hydroxyl group and a carboxyl group (A) has a hydroxyl value of 80 to 200 mgKOH/g and an acid value of 10 to 40 mgKOH/g in terms of resin solid content, the aqueous polyurethane resin (D) has a glass transition point (Tg) of 50 C. or less, and a cured film of the aqueous polyurethane resin (D) has an elongation at break of 400% or more at 20 C.
Method for applying RMA crosslinkable coating on modified epoxy primer coating
A method for applying a RMA crosslinked coating with improved adhesion, comprising the steps of applying on the substrate surface a layer of a modified epoxy primer comprising an epoxy functional polymer binder and a crosslinker, wherein adhesion of the RMA crosslinked coating to the epoxy primer layer is improved by said primer comprising after curing functional groups X reactable with crosslinkable components of the RMA crosslinkable composition or a precursor of functional groups X, preferably a moisture deblockable precursor. The invention also relates to modified epoxy primers, compositions for improving adhesion of epoxy primers and use thereof to improve adhesion of RMA crosslinkable coatings.

Coating compositions for coil coating, methods for making such coating compositions and coil coating methods
Coating compositions for coil coating, methods for making such coating compositions and coil coating methods are provided. In an exemplary embodiment, a coating composition includes an organic solvent carrier and a film-forming binder dispersed in the organic solvent carrier. The film-forming binder contains an epoxy-amine adduct and a blocked or unblocked polyisocyanate crosslinking agent. The film-forming binder has associated amine groups until subjected to a temperature of at least about 165.5 C. (330 F.). The coating composition also contains a pigment and a grinding resin. The coating composition has a solids content of at least about 50 wt. % based on a total weight of the coating composition.

A method of making a shaving article comprising a substrate comprising stainless steel; and an external polymer coating comprising polymer brushes, the method comprising the steps of: providing said substrate; providing a initiating species comprising an anchor group that is chemically reactive with surface moieties on the substrate, and a polymerization initiator group; reacting said anchor group with said surface moieties of the substrate; providing monomers reactive for polymerization with the polymerization initiator; and polymerizing the monomers with the initiator group of the initiating species.
Aging resistance coating film for hub and method for forming protective film
Disclosed herein is an aging resistance coating film for a hub, sequentially comprising an aluminum alloy matrix, a silane conversion film, a high-gloss organic resin coating, a periodic variable alloy black chromium coating film and a transparent resin coating. In the coating film, the thickness of the black chromium coating film is increased and the blackness thereof is adjusted according to different content of C. The residual stress of the deposited metal layer is reduced, the problem of cracking during heating and rapid cooling of the coating film is solved, and the binding force between the coating film and the underlying high-gloss resin material is improved. Also disclosed herein is a method for forming an aging resistance coating film for a hub, comprising: (1) silane pretreatment, (2) spraying of high-gloss medium powder, (3) PVD coating, and (4) spraying of transparent powder.

The disclosure provides an anti-aging periodic variable reaction black chromium coating film, sequentially comprising: an aluminum alloy matrix, a silane conversion film, a high-gloss organic resin coating, a metal compound and metal element periodic variable content alloy coating film, and a transparent resin coating. The disclosure simultaneously provides a method for forming the anti-aging periodic variable reaction black chromium coating film.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LAMINATING CAN END STOCK
Improved aluminum can end stock (CES) is disclosed. The CES includes an adhered polymer coating exhibiting low feathering and high performance in various acid tests. The low feathering and resistance to acid tests is accomplished by incorporating a copolymer adhesion promoter film to an aluminum alloy before lamination. In some cases, the metal strip is pretreated with a conversion layer, which can include compounds of trivalent chromium (Cr(III)) and phosphates or titanium and zirconium.

Methods for preparing an aluminum alloy sheet product for adhesive bonding are disclosed. A method may include preparing an aluminum alloy product for roll coating and roll coating an aqueous functionalization solution onto the prepared aluminum alloy product. For the roll coating step, the aqueous functionalization solution may include from 0.1 to 5.0 wt. % of active ingredients. The active ingredients may include a first monomer component and a second polymer component. The amount of second polymer component in the aqueous functionalization solution may be greater than an amount of the first monomer component in the aqueous functionalization solution.
