Transparent product and method for producing transparent product
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a transparent product which has an anti-glare surface having a surface shape which makes it possible to lower the haze value thereof and to obtain an excellent glare-suppressing effect. The transparent product has a transparent substrate 11 equipped with an anti-glare surface. The surface shape of the anti-glare surface is shaped in a manner such that the ratio (r.sub.0/r.sub.0.2) of the autocorrelation length (r.sub.0), which is the minimum value of the distance r at which the autocorrelation function g(r) represented by formula (1) is 0, to the autocorrelation length (r.sub.0.2), which is the minimum value of the distance r at which the autocorrelation function g(r) is 0.2, is 2 or higher. The autocorrelation function g(r) is obtained by converting the autocorrelation function g(t.sub.x, t.sub.y) obtained by normalizing the surface shape z(x, y) of the antiglare surface to polar coordinates (t.sub.x=r cos Φ, t.sub.y=r sin Φ), and averaging the angle direction.
Orienting magnetic flakes within a binder layer
A deposition device may deposit, on a substrate, a binder layer that includes a first set of magnetic flakes and a second set of magnetic flakes and may cause, when a temperature of the binder layer satisfies a temperature threshold (e.g., a Curie temperature of the first set of magnetic flakes), a magnetic field to be applied to the binder layer to cause the first set of magnetic flakes and the second set of magnetic flakes to be oriented according to the magnetic field. The deposition device may cause, when the temperature of the binder layer ceases to satisfy the temperature threshold, another magnetic field to be applied to the binder layer to cause only the second set of magnetic flakes to be oriented according to the other magnetic field.
Irreversibly magnetically induced images or patterns
The present invention relates to the field of the protection of security documents, especially banknotes, against illegal actions such as robbery or theft. In particular, the present invention relates to the field of ink compositions for producing irreversibly magnetically induced images or patterns, said inks comprising multichromal microspheres, preferably bichromal microspheres (1) that are orientable upon application of a magnetic field and that comprise at least a first portion (2) comprising one or more dyes and/or pigments and at least a second portion (3) comprising one or more magnetic or magnetizable materials, wherein said microspheres (1) comprise as the first portion a core (2) having a surface and comprising the one or more dyes and/or pigments and as the second portion a partial coating (3) covering at least a portion of the surface of said core (2) and comprising the one or more magnetic or magnetizable materials.
Target for ultraviolet light generation, electron beam-excited ultraviolet light source, and production method for target for ultraviolet light generation
A target for ultraviolet light generation comprises a substrate adapted to transmit ultraviolet light therethrough and a light-emitting layer disposed on the substrate and generating ultraviolet light UV in response to an electron beam. The light-emitting layer includes a powdery or granular rare-earth-containing aluminum garnet crystal doped with an activator. The light-emitting layer has an ultraviolet light emission peak wavelength of 300 nm or shorter.
UV hardening composition having improved light resistance, three dimensional film and method for manufacturing the same
Disclosed are a UV hardening composition having improved light resistance, a three dimensional film, and a method for manufacturing the three dimensional film. Particularly, the UV hardening composition having improved light resistance may be used in interior materials and the like for a vehicle which generally are substantially exposed to UV rays. In addition, the UV hardening composition may also be used for indoor electronic products. The UV hardening composition according to the present invention includes a urethane acrylate resin, a polyester acrylate resin, a UV absorber, a hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS), an antioxidant and the like. Further, the three dimensional film including the UV hardening composition may be advantageous due to the improvement in the carbon pattern three dimensional effect formed in the three dimensional film. Therefore, a comparable price and reduced weight of the three dimensional film for a vehicle interior material are available while maintaining the quality equivalent to a film to which an actual carbon fabric is used.
PROCESSES FOR IN-FIELD HARDENING OF OPTICAL EFFECT LAYERS PRODUCED BY MAGNETIC-FIELD GENERATING DEVICES GENERATING CONCAVE FIELD LINES
A method is provided for freezing the orientation of orientable magnetic or magnetizable pigment particles by irradiation hardening the coating layer comprising the orientable magnetic or magnetizable pigment particles through the substrate carrying the coating layer. This method can be used in the protection of security documents, such as for example banknotes and identity documents, against counterfeit and illegal reproduction.
METHOD FOR FORMING COATING FILM
The present invention relates to a method for forming a coating film including a step 1 of applying a liquid composition I containing a solvent A, a solvent B, and a polymer C to a base material; and a step 2 of applying droplets of a liquid II containing water to the liquid composition I on the base material as applied in the step 1, wherein a boiling point of the solvent A is lower than 99° C., and a distance Ra of the Hansen solubility parameter of the solvent A to water is 36 or less; a boiling point of the solvent B is 150° C. or higher, and a distance Ra of the Hansen solubility parameter of the solvent B to water is 40 or more; and the solvent B is compatible with the solvent A, the polymer C is soluble in the solvent Abut insoluble in the solvent B, and an average diameter d of the droplets applied in the step 2 is 0.01 μm or more and 50 μm or less.
Wood-like coating method for substrate
A protective coating method of a material such as aromatic polyurethane substrates is effected through a process that promotes coating adhesion to the substrate while providing a wood-like aesthetic. Closed cells on the surface of the aromatic polyurethane are opened via sanding techniques to promote adhesion. Once a sufficient surface is achieved, the substrate is coated using spray techniques to protect the aromatic polyurethane from ultra-violet light exposure. The wood-like appearance is achieved through embossing a wood-grain on the deformable surface and subsequently filling the grain with a contrasting agent to highlight its appearance through a reverse-roll-coating technique. Abrasion properties are achieved through a final clear top coat that allows both the contrast agent and the top coat to fully cure.

The disclosed optical lens assemblies may include a deformable optical element including a substantially transparent transducer configured to deform, and thus change at least one optical property of, the deformable optical element. At least a portion of the substantially transparent transducer may be positioned within a substantially transparent optical aperture of the optical lens assembly. Various head-mounted displays incorporating such an optical lens assembly, and methods of fabricating the same, are also disclosed.
