MULTIPLE IMMEDIATE PASS APPLICATION OF HIGH THICKNESS SPRAY FOAMS
A method of applying a closed cell spray foam insulation may include spraying a first layer of a closed cell spray foam insulation into a wall cavity. A B-side mixture of the closed cell spray foam insulation may include a polyol blend having a polyester polyol having a functionality of at least about 3.0 and a polyether polyol. The method may include spraying at least one additional layer of the closed cell spray foam insulation against the first layer within 5 minutes of spraying the first layer.
GRAPHENE BASED SUBSTRATES FOR IMAGING
Disclosed are articles comprising substrate and graphene coating that are configured to support a sample for electron or optical microscopy. Also disclosed are methods of making the same and methods of using the same in imaging technology.
FLUID TRANSPORT TUBING INCORPORATING A GRAPHENE IMPREGNATED OUTER COATING
An article and method for forming a coated metal pipe for use as an automotive fluid transport tube including a copper plated carbon steel tubing formed into a circular cross sectional profile. At least one intermediate layer including any of a corrosion inhibiting zinc/aluminum alloy, electroplated zinc or hot dip aluminum is applied over said tubing. One or more outer polymer or copolymer layers are applied over the intermediate layer, with the outer layer or multi-layers compounded with a graphene or graphene oxide powder.
LAYERED COATING FOR FABRICS
A coating fabric and method of manufacturing the same are provided. A coated fabric includes a base coating layer. The base coating layer defines a smooth coating to resist liquid penetration to the fabric. The coated fabric also includes a middle foam coating layer that is deposited on at least a portion of the base coating layer. The middle foam layer defines a middle layer foam density and is configured to absorb at least a portion of liquid. The coated fabric further includes an outer foam coating layer that is deposited on at least a portion of the middle foam coating later. The outer foam layer defines an outer layer foam density and is configured with holes to allow liquid to penetrate to the middle foam layer. The middle layer foam density is less than the outer layer foam density. A corresponding method of manufacturing is also provided.
GEOMETRICALLY SEGMENTED ABRADABLE CERAMIC THERMAL BARRIER COATING WITH IMPROVED SPALLATION RESISTANCE
A turbine article includes a substrate with a geometric surface having a multiple of divots recessed into the substrate, and a ceramic topcoat disposed over the geometric surface, the topcoat including at least a first layer having a first hardness and a second layer having a second hardness, the first hardness different than the second hardness.
THREE-DIMENSIONAL (3D) PRINTING
In a three-dimensional printing method example, a pre-treatment coating is formed on a part precursor by applying and drying, alternatingly: a polycation solution including a chloride ion and a polyanion solution including a sodium ion to form at least two layers. An ink is selectively deposited on the pre-treatment coating.
Electrode Plate, Microfluidic Chip And Method Of Manufacturing Electrode Plate
The present disclosure provides an electrode plate, a microfluidic chip, and a method of manufacturing the electrode plate. In one embodiment, an electrode plate includes: a substrate, an electrode and a surface contact layer stacked in sequence, and a droplet inlet hole passing through the substrate, the electrode and the surface contact layer. The surface contact layer comprises a super-hydrophobic region and a hydrophilic region, and the droplet inlet hole is disposed in the hydrophilic region. The microfluidic chip includes: a first electrode plate formed by the abovementioned electrode plate, and a second electrode plate provided on a side of the first electrode plate close to the surface contact layer. The first electrode plate is provided opposite to the second electrode plate and a liquid channel is formed between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate.
FOUL RELEASE COATING COMPOSITION, SUBSTRATE COATED WITH SUCH COATING COMPOSITION, AND USE OF SUCH COATING COMPOSITION
The embodiments herein relate to a non-aqueous liquid foul release coating composition and process for controlling aqueous biofouling on man-made objects, including a curable resin system (A) comprising i) a curable polymer free of fluorine atoms and having a backbone selected from a polyurethane, a polyether, a polyester, a polycarbonate or a hybrid of two or more thereof, and having at least one terminal or pendant alkoxysilyl group and ii) optionally a curing agent and/or a catalyst; and (B) a marine biocide and/or a non-curable, non-volatile compound is selected from the group consisting of fluorinated polymers, sterols and sterol derivatives, and hydrophilic-modified polysiloxane oils, wherein the coating composition is essentially free of a curable polysiloxane, and wherein the coating composition is essentially free of non-curable polysiloxanes other than non-curable hydrophilic-modified polysiloxane oils.
LAYER BY LAYER COATED MESH FOR LOCAL RELEASE OF BIO-ACTIVE PROTEINS
The present invention relates to biomaterials coated with an active agent eluting coating, wherein implantation of the coated biomaterial results in reduced implant-related complications and/or improved integration of the biomaterial into the host tissue and further relates to kits containing the coated biomaterial. The present invention also relates to methods and kits for coating the biomaterial. It is based, at least in part, on the discovery that biomaterial coated with a cytokine eluting coating resulted in the shift of early stage macrophage polarization that were associated with positive long-term effects such as minimized capsule formation and improved tissue quality and composition as compared to uncoated biomaterials.
