Surface treatment
A surface treatment includes a functional component and a linking component, wherein the linking component is capable of hydrogen bonding and/or covalently linking with the functional component and is capable of hydrogen bonding and/or covalently linking with the surface to form a treated surface. The surface treatment provides a beneficial property to the surface when the surface treatment is bonded to the surface.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COATING A BLADE
A method of applying a lubricious coating of a material such as a fluoropolymer to a cutting edge of a blade includes providing the blade having the cutting edge including a tip end, a first facet, and a second facet with the first facet and the second facet adjacent the tip end. The method further includes generating a plasma stream and directing the plasma stream towards the cutting edge. The method further includes introducing a fluid stream containing a dispersion including the fluoropolymer into the plasma stream, thereby simultaneously plasma treating the cutting edge and depositing solids of the dispersion onto the cutting edge.

Device for producing coated steel sheet and method for producing coated steel sheet
A device for producing a coated steel sheet includes: a blowing-off unit which sprays a gas onto and remove an excessive coating that accumulates along a side edge of a steel sheet that threads along one direction; and a coating-collection unit which collects the excessive coating removed by the blowing-off unit. The blowing-off unit includes a spray nozzle and a gas supply member. The coating-collection unit includes a duct and a coating container. In a case where the duct is seen in a plan view, an outlet thereof is disposed to fit in and overlap an inside of an opening of the coating container, and in a case where the duct is seen in a side view, a gap is provided between the outlet and the opening of the coating container.
High emissivity coating compositions, and processes for preparing and applying the same
To provide a high emissivity coating composition capable of exhibiting a higher emissivity at a low elevated temperature and substantially reduced formation micro craze when coated upon a substrate, and enabling a simplified application process, a high emissivity coating composition, comprising a powder mixture for providing emissivity; a binder for providing adhesion; and a co-binder for promoting adhesion and film-forming, characterized in that the powder mixture comprises at least three metal compounds of formula A.sub.(y3)B.sub.y/2O.sub.y, wherein y is 4; A is selectable from a group of Ni and Co; B is selectable from a group of Fe and Cr; and O is oxygen; and the co-binder is an aqueous solution comprising silica in a compound of Formula (1), wherein R.sub.1 is HSi(CH.sub.3).sub.2; and a compound of Formula (2), wherein R.sub.2 is CH.sub.3, is disclosed herein.

A method of manufacturing an aircraft metallic faucet with an anti-microbial coating may comprise: disposing the aircraft metallic faucet in a piranha solution; washing the aircraft metallic faucet; and coating a surface of the aircraft metallic faucet with a Si-Quat based coating. A method of manufacturing an aircraft metallic faucet with a hybrid anti-microbial coating with cross-linkers may comprise: disposing the aircraft metallic faucet in a piranha solution; washing the aircraft metallic faucet; coating a surface of the aircraft metallic faucet with a hybrid Si-Quat coating with crosslinkers; and curing the hybrid Si-Quat coating at a temperature between 60 C. (140 F.) and 100 C. (212 F.).

The present invention relates to a surface treatment composition comprising, on the basis of 100 wt % of the solid part of the composition, 20-40 wt % of a water-soluble polyurethane resin, 40-60 wt % of a silane-based sol-gel resin in which three types of silane compounds are cross-linked, 5-15 wt % of a curing agent, 0.5-1.5 wt % of a corrosion inhibitor, 0.1-1.0 wt % of a molybdenum-based compound, 1.0-3.0 wt % of a silane coupling agent; 1.0-2.0 wt % of an organometallic complex, 1.0-2.0 wt % of an acid scavenger, 0.1-1.0 wt % of an aluminum-based compound, and 1.0-2.0 wt % of a lubricant. A ternary hot-dip galvannealed steel sheet treated with a chromium-free surface treatment coating agent, according to an exemplary embodiment in the present invention, has excellent resistance to blackening, alkali and corrosion, and provides excellent effects without concern for problems, in chromium treatment, of additional equipment installation, an increase in manufacturing costs and environmental pollution.
CLEAR-COATED STAINLESS STEEL SHEET
This clear-coated stainless steel sheet includes: a stainless steel sheet; a clear resin layer formed on the stainless steel sheet; and resin beads (D) included in the clear resin layer, wherein the clear resin layer includes: a lowermost layer including a first thermosetting resin composition (A) containing an acryl resin (a1) having a crosslinking functional group; and an uppermost layer including a second thermosetting resin composition (B), and an average particle diameter of the resin beads (D) is 0.7 times to 1.5 times the film thickness of the clear resin layer.
RAZOR BLADE
A razor blade comprising a blade substrate with a blade edge substrate portion ending in blade tip. The razor blade is covered by a strengthening coating deposited on the blade edge substrate portion via a deposition process. The deposition process causes a hardness value of the strengthening coating layer to be increased, which, among other factors, allows for a decreased thickness of the blade substrate with coating. The blade substrate with coating has (i) a thickness of between about 1.57 and 2.37 micrometers measured at a distance of about five micrometers from the coating tip, (ii) a thickness of between about 4.62 and 6.74 micrometers measured at a distance of about twenty micrometers from the coating tip, and (iii) a thickness of between about 19.82 and 27.52 micrometers measured at a distance of about one hundred micrometers from the coating tip.
Method of coating lubrication paint on disk-shaped substrate
A method for coating a lubrication paint on a disk-shaped substrate, comprising: applying the lubrication paint on a sliding portion of the disk-shaped substrate from a paint supply nozzle while rotating the disk-shaped substrate in the horizontal plane; and leveling the lubrication paint applied on the sliding portion by contacting the lubrication paint with a doctor knife that is arranged at a downstream position in the direction of rotation of the disk-shaped substrate. The disk-shaped substrate may be the swash plate of a swash plate compressor.
