Method for manufacture of and a foil for enclosing or wrapping a product to be heated in an oven
A method of manufacturing a foil for enclosing or wrapping a product configured to be heated in an oven includes: providing an aluminium layer, applying a first ink material at a surface of the aluminium layer to form a first ink layer, and applying a second ink material at a surface of the first ink layer to form a second ink layer. The first ink layer is positioned between the aluminium layer and the second ink layer, and is configured to absorb radiant energy. The second ink layer is configured to allow radiant energy to pass through to reach the first ink layer. A binder system of the first ink material or the second ink material is based at least in part on polyvinyl butyral (PVB).
METAL SURFACE TREATMENT
The instant invention concerns the use of at least one polymer P obtained by radical copolymerization of a mixture of (i) acrylic acid; (ii) methacrylic acid; and (iii) at least one 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate phosphate for treating a metallic surface intended to be coated by a paint, a varnish or an adhesive. The invention also concerns methods of coatings making use of this polymer P, compositions comprising the polymer P and useful for these methods, and the obtained coated materials.
POLYMERS FOR METAL SURFACE TREATMENT
The instant invention concerns polymers obtained by radical copolymerization of a mixture of (1) acrylic acid; (2) methacrylic acid; and (3) at least one allylcatechol selected from 4-allylbenzene-1,2-diol, 3-allylbenzene-1,2-diol and mixtures thereof. The polymers are especially useful for treating a metallic surface intended to be coated by a paint, a varnish or an adhesive. The invention also concerns methods of coatings making use of this polymer P, compositions comprising the polymer P and useful for these methods, and the obtained coated materials.
Reinforced powder coated writing board substrate system
A powder coated substrate system includes a base substrate with integrated structural support flanges having a powder coated front surface; a powder coating resin applied to the substrate to create a textured powder coated front surface, the textured surface having a roughness; the textured powder coated flanged substrate attached to a frame; the textured surface is suitable for receiving a writing device thereon.
Method for making medicinal delivery device having multi-layer coating
Methods of making components for a medicinal delivery device are described, in which a base composition comprising a polysulphone is applied to the surface of a component to create a base layer, a primer composition comprising a silane having two or more reactive silane groups separated by an organic linker group is applied to the base layer to create primed surface, and a coating composition comprising an at least partially fluorinated compound is applied to the primed surface. Corresponding coated components and a medicinal delivery device are disclosed.
Waterproofing 3D printed meshes
Porous solid members are provided that include, disposed on at least a portion of the internal surfaces of a plurality of channels thereof, a plurality of superhydrophobic particles. These particles inhibit ingress of water or other aqueous fluids into the internal spaces of the porous solid member, reducing the occurrence of corrosion, biological growth, or other unwanted effects of fluids present in the internal spaces. The porous solid member could be fabricated using 3D printing methods, e.g., the member could be a 3D printed aluminum or other metal(s). The plurality of superhydrophobic particles can be disposed on the internal surfaces of the channels within the porous solid member via a number of processes, e.g., by delivering the particles into the channels while disposed in a payload fluid that later evaporates.
LATEX POLYMERS MADE USING METALLIC-BASE-NEUTRALIZED SURFACTANT AND BLUSH-RESISTANT COATING COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING SUCH POLYMERS
An aqueous coating composition is provided that is preferably substantially free of bisphenol A. The coating composition is preferably a latex-based coating composition that includes a latex polymer formed from ingredients including an anionic and/or zwitterionic surfactant that includes one or more acid groups neutralized with a metallic base. The coating composition is useful in coating metal substrates such as, for example, interior and/or exterior surfaces of food or beverage containers.
Composite laminate and method for producing same, and metal resin bonded product and method for producing same
To provide a composite laminate having excellent adhesiveness to a resin material imparted to a metal base material, such as an aluminum, and a method for producing the same, and a metal-resin bonded article using the composite laminate and a method for producing the same. A composite laminate 1 includes a metal base material 2 and one layer or plural layers of a resin coating layer 4 laminated on the metal base material 2, the resin coating layer 4 is laminated on a surface-treated surface of the metal base material 2, and at least one layer of the resin coating layer 4 is formed of a resin composition containing an in situ polymerizable phenoxy resin.
Robot-centered coating system with multiple curing workstations
A coating system includes a plurality of liquid immersion workstations positioned along an arcuate path, the plurality of liquid immersion workstations defining a single complete coating process for a sequence of objects. A plurality of curing workstations are configured to independently receive objects of the sequence of objects exiting the plurality of liquid immersion workstations. An articulated robotic arm has a base positioned inside the arcuate path in top plan view such that the robotic arm is operable to carry each object of the sequence of objects through each of the plurality of liquid immersion workstations and to exactly one of the plurality of curing workstations. An articulated robotic hand is provided at a distal end of the robotic arm and configured to grasp and hold each of the objects and to oscillate the object while submerged in each of the plurality of liquid immersion workstations.
Method for manufacturing a special effect pigment using an emulsion
A method of making pigments, such as special effect pigment includes forming a first slurry including a substrate, a polymer precursor, and a radical initiator; forming a solution including an emulsifier; and combining the first slurry and the solution so that the substrate is encapsulated by a first coating. Special effect pigments formed by the method are also disclosed.
