A device for treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder is disclosed. The device combines the benefits of LED therapy with the stimulation and pain relieving qualities of a transcutaneous electrical nerve simulation (TENS) unit for the TMJ treatment. The device comprises an adjustable headband strap, to be worn by a user. The adjustable strap could consist of a shoulder extension, and face and head extensions, which offers a combined TENS and red LED contact points. The TENS connectors connect a remote TENS controller to the headband strap and the headband strap to the user's skin for the optimum stimulation. Further, the device comprises acupuncture points for skin rejuvenation. A temple strap formed integral to the headband strap consists of a TENS electrode and LED unit and for the adjustment of the headband.

Handheld acoustic shock wave or pressure pulse application device and methods of use

A handheld acoustic shock wave or pressure pulse applicator device has a body structure and an applicator head. The body structure has a proximal end and a distal end with a longitudinal axis extending between the ends. The applicator head is at the distal end. the head emits pressure pulses or shock waves at an inclined angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the body structure. The applicator head has a balloon or lens or membrane through which the emitted pressure pulses or shock waves pass. The lens or membrane is configured to be coupled directly or indirectly to an exposed soft tissue surface of a palate inside a patient's mouth to direct emitted pressure pulses or shock waves to the brain. The applicator device can be configured with the inclined obtuse angle fixed between 150 degrees and 90 degrees or can be adjustable between 180 degrees and 90 degrees.

Method and arrangement for alleviating the stress-related sleep disorder and reducing the stress level of a person
10940082 · 2021-03-09 · ·

A person's sleep disorders are resolved by applying low frequency vibration. Mechanical vibrators (1) present on a first side of a plate type base member (9) set the plate type base member (9) in vibration in such a way that its second surface transmits mechanical vibration. A plurality of first low frequency pulse trains (100; 101, 102, 103 . . . ) of mechanical vibration are conducted to a part of the person's body, at successive time periods (T; T1, T2, T3 . . . ). A frequency (f) of vibration in each individual pulse train (100) is maintained constant (f; fa, fb, fc . . . ) within the range of 20-50 Hz. The pressure pulses (400) of said pulse train (100) have a contact power (I) with said part of the body within the range of 40-70 dB. The constant frequencies (fa, fb, fc . . . ) of the successive pulse trains (100; 101, 102, 103 . . . ) are mutually different and change monotonously and mostly linearly. At least one second pulse train (100) is transmitted to said part of the body.

20210038465 · 2021-02-11 ·

Systems and methods for controlling, conducting, and/or performing vestibular rehabilitation exercises. The individual performing a vestibular rehabilitation exercise progresses through the exercise by selecting target word or picture representations that are sequentially presented on a display. When read sequentially, the target word or picture representations form at least a portion of a phrase, a sentence, or a visual message. In use, a given exercise can correspond to the selection of a series of correct word or picture representations that correspond to the displayed target word or picture representations and form a book or story.

The present invention discloses a headache therapeutic instrument, comprising a wearable frame fitting for the human head, massage and transdermal medicine permeation devices, liquid medicine delivery tubes, a liquid medicine delivery device and a liquid medicine storage box. The massage frame is provided with at least one acupoint locating hole corresponding to the human head. The massage and transdermal medicine permeation device is mounted on the massage frame and corresponds to the acupoint locating hole; The liquid medicine delivery device delivers medicines in the liquid medicine storage box to the massage and transdermal medicine permeation devices through the liquid medicine delivery tubes. The massage and transdermal medicine permeation devices can conduct medicine permeation and massage on corresponding acupoints.

DEVICES AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING MECHANICAL STIMULATION TO NERVE, MECHANORECEPTOR, AND CELL TARGETS

Presented herein are systems, methods, and devices that provide for stimulation of nerves and/or targets such as mechanoreceptors, tissue regions, mechanoresponsive proteins, and vascular targets through generation and delivery of mechanical vibrational waves. In certain embodiments, the approaches described herein utilize a stimulation device (e.g., a wearable device) for generation and delivery of the mechanical vibrational waves. As described herein, the delivered vibrational waves can be tailored based on particular targets (e.g., nerves, mechanoreceptors, vascular targets, tissue regions) to stimulate and/or to elicited particular desired responses in a subject.

Apparatus for Minimally-Invasive Prevention and Treatment of Hydrocephalus and Method for Use of Same
20210077793 · 2021-03-18 ·

An apparatus (10) for minimally-invasive, including non-invasive, prevention and/or treatment of hydrocephalus and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment of the apparatus (10), a housing (50) is sized for superjacent contact with a skull having a fontanel. Within the housing (50), a compartment (12) includes a pressure applicator (88), such as a fluid-filled bladder (22), under the control of a pressure regulator (14). The pressure applicator (88) is configured to selectively apply an external pressure to the fontanel. The compartment (12) includes a pressure sensor (90) configured to measure intracranial pulse pressure of the fontanel. Further, in one embodiment, the apparatus (10) can cause pulse pressure modulation by adjusting the intracranial pulse pressure via the pressure applicator (88). This enables a non-invasive measurement of the pulse pressure and modulation thereof in infants, for example.
