Methods, compositions and systems for enhancing the useful life of a transportation surface
Methods, compositions and systems for prolonging the lives of transportation surfaces, including pavement, runways, bridges and parking structures include physically altering the transportation surface and chemically protecting the transportation surfaces. Physical alteration of a transportation surface may include physically altering one or both of a microtexture and a macrotexture of the transportation surface. Chemical protection of a transportation surface may include hardening and/or densifying the transportation surface. The transportation surface may be chemically protected while physically altering the transportation surface or after the transportation surface has been physically altered.
Plated steel plate having excellent glossiness and surface property, and method for manufacturing same
Provided is a plated steel plate used for interior materials and exterior materials such as home appliances, construction materials, vehicles, etc., and a method for manufacturing same. The plated sheet plate includes: base steel; a ZnMg plating layer formed on the base steel; and a UV-curable film layer formed on the ZnMg plating layer, wherein a hairline pattern is formed on a surface of the ZnMg plating layer, and the ZnMg plating layer includes 8 to 27 weight % of Mg and a balance of Zn and inevitable impurities.
Passive Anti-frosting Surface Comprised of Microscopic Wettability Patterns Containing Sacrificial Ice
A method and device for reducing ice and frost on a surface comprising a wettable pattern on a surface. The pattern is wetted with water which is frozen into ice to create overlapping hygroscopic that cover the surface.
Nanoscale thin film deposition systems
A method and system for nanoscale precision programmable profiling on substrates. Profiling material is dispensed on a substrate or a superstrate. The superstrate is brought in contact with the substrate. The profiling material is then cured after bringing the superstrate in contact with the substrate. The superstrate is separated from the substrate after curing. An optical metrology of points on the substrate corresponding to the final substrate profile is then performed.
Wind turbine blade repair method
A repair solution for a wind turbine blade is described. The repair solution includes the application of a layer of viscous coating material to the section of the blade to be repaired, which is cured to form a repaired surface. The layer of viscous coating material may be temporarily covered during the curing process using a film of Low Surface Energy material, to prevent defects in the repaired surface from dust, insects, etc. Additionally or alternatively, a temporary shield may be erected adjacent the curing layer of coating material, to allow for the control of the temperature and/or humidity levels of the region adjacent the curing material, to provide for more effective control of the curing process and to allow for repairs to be carried out for a wider process window.
Aluminum surface treatment method to increase adhesion with polyurethane coating
A method for improvement of adhesion and distribution along the surface of coatings using a femtosecond laser is described. The process starts from chemical preparation or cleaning of the target material, surface predetermination, laser irradiation of the surface until a certain surface geometry is obtained, which gives the surface improved wetting properties and chemical surface activation which results in improved adhesion of the coatings on the target material surface. The surface geometries and dimensions to be obtained during irradiation are selected according to the properties of the coating and target material, including the laser parameters and/or the environment to obtain the desired surface geometry, considering possible geometry errors without compromising essential adhesion.
MULTILAYER COATING METHOD FOR PREVENTING EROSION OF CAVITATION
The present invention relates to a multilayer coating method for preventing erosion due to cavitation capable of enhancing adhesion with a coating layer, reducing waste of the material by a bonding method of a film prepared during top coating, and simplifying a process even while ensuring wear resistance and high stiffness of the material itself by surface-treating the material by a different method from the related art.
Textured surface of oil and gas equipment and machining method thereof
A textured surface of oil and gas equipment includes a first substrate, an antiwear coating, and a second substrate, and further includes a texture, where the texture includes a first texture and/or a second texture; the first substrate and the second substrate are capable of moving relative to each other when operating, the first texture is arranged on a surface of the first substrate that is in contact with the antiwear coating, the second texture is arranged on a surface of the antiwear coating that is in contact with the second substrate. A method for machining the textured surface of oil and gas equipment is provided, which improves various performances of the oil and gas equipment such as antifriction, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance by combining a coating with a texture, so as to prolong the service life of the oil and gas equipment, increase oil and gas production efficiency.
