A vibrating back massager with guide slot and vibrating heads is described. The guide slot is designed to restrict lateral movement of the massage device when the guide slot is engaged with a supporting member. The supporting member may be the edge of an open door, a corner, a vertical pole, or other generally available structure. The device includes a strap handle which may be draped over the user's shoulder and used to control the vertical position of the device. The described vibrating massage device allows a single user to create and maintain a significant amount of massage pressure without fatiguing his arms or relying on a second person. In a preferred embodiment, the controls for the vibrating massage device are incorporated into the strap handle so that the speed, intensity, and/or temperature may be controlled by the user without repositioning the device.

Neck pillow with storage capability
11160399 · 2021-11-02 ·

Disclosed embodiments provide a neck pillow with storage capability. In embodiments, the neck pillow can open to reveal internal compartments, suitable for storage of small personal items. In this way, the neck pillow can also serve as a carrying mechanism as well as functioning as a traditional neck pillow. In this way, one can carry the neck pillow and personal items conveniently. This makes neck pillows of disclosed embodiments convenient for a variety of activities such as relaxing at the beach, concerts, movies, sporting events, and anywhere else where sitting for prolonged periods may occur. Further, the neck pillow may have a pocket to receive a heating and/or cooling pack to be used in conjunction with an individual who has suffered a head or neck injury. Here, the neck pillow may be utilized to promote proper body alignment and provide therapeutic relief.

Light therapy system

A light therapy system is made up of a pressure cuff system having a cuff that is positionable on or near a body part of a user and that can receive pressurized air to selectively pressurize and depressurize the cuff and a light emitting system having a supporting structure and a light emitter positioned on the supporting structure, the light emitter being controllably powerable. The supporting structure is positionable on an interior surface of the cuff so that the light emitter can direct light onto the body part. The light therapy system can further include a controller capable of controllably powering the light emitter, wherein controller can adjust the intensity or duration of the light directed onto the body part in response to an input or measurement related to a condition of the body part. A photometer can be provided separately or integrally to measure the condition of the body part. A method of providing light therapy is also provided.

Device and method for opening an airway

The present invention provides devices and methods for creating and/or maintaining patency of the upper airway passage. The device is configured to fit under the chin of a subject at an external location corresponding approximately with the subject's internal soft tissue associated with the neck's anterior triangle. The device includes structural elements designed to optimize comfort, compliance and seal achieved through minimizing the pressure variation along the contact surface of the therapy device.

Method for activating massage units in a seat, control device for carrying out said method, and seat arrangement

A vehicle seat arrangement, a control device in the seat arrangement, and a method for activating a plurality of massage units integrated in a vehicle seat, including the following steps: playing back an acoustic entertainment signal by means of a playback device of a vehicle; and controlling the plurality of massage units based on the acoustic entertainment signal by means of the control device; in which at least one of the plurality of massage units is activated so as to vibrate in a frequency range, in which the at least one of the plurality of massage units only brings about noise emission which is externally imperceptible to a person other than a person sitting on the vehicle seat.

Wearable active-compression therapy and treatment
11638677 · 2023-05-02 · ·

Apparatus and associated methods relate to a wearable compression therapy system for ambulatory therapy, the system including a wearable garment having one or more inflatable chambers, and a pneumatic engine locally coupled to the garment to provide control and inflation of the one or more inflatable chambers. In an illustrative embodiment, the pneumatic engine may control a pump and one or more valves to inflate the inflatable chambers. The valves and pump may be coordinated according to a pre-programmed profile. In some embodiments, the pneumatic engine may have a wireless interface configured to receive control signals from a remote mobile device untethered from the garment. The pneumatic engine may send to the remote mobile device signals indicative of sensed conditions of the compression therapy system. In some embodiments, the pneumatic engine may include a power source that advantageously permits the user to be untethered from a source of power.

Garment system including at least one sensor and at least one actuator responsive to the sensor and related methods

Embodiments disclosed herein relate to a garment system including at least one sensor and at least one actuator that operates responsive to sensing feedback from the at least one sensor to cause a flexible compression garment to selectively constrict or selectively dilate, thereby compressing or relieving compression against at least one body part of a subject. Such selective constriction or dilation can improve muscle functioning or joint functioning during use of motion-conducive equipment, such as an exercise bike or rowing machine.

Vibratory cough suppression

An apparatus includes a vibrational transducer, a placement band, a driver module and a control module. The placement band is configured to hold the vibrational transducer adjacent to the skin surface overlying the cricoid cartilage and trachea region of a patient's neck. The driver module is configured to apply a drive signal to the vibrational transducer. The control module is configured to receive at least one input configured to provide vibrational operating information and control the driver module to cause the vibrational transducer to apply a vibratory stimulation in an amount determined, at least in part, by the vibrational operating information.
