Compression garment apparatus
A compression garment apparatus for a body part of an human and/or animal having a flexible backing, attaching means, a segmented flex frame, and a shape memory alloy on the segmented flex frame. The shape memory alloy can be connected to two terminals on the frame forming a circuit. A controller can be connected to the terminals applying current to the shape memory alloy at defined intervals providing intermittent, sequenced, or continuous compression therapy.
Static and dynamic compression therapy system
Compression systems and methods may include a garment configured to be donned on, for example, a head and a neck of a body. For example, the garment may include a static garment portion configurable to apply a static pressure to a portion of the head and a dynamic garment portion including one or more pressure applying regions controllable to apply pressure to the head and neck. Further, a controller may be configured to control pressure applied by the one or more pressure applying regions.
Massage apparatus and method of use
A massage apparatus and a method of its use for massage of the human body are provided, the massage apparatus including a frame supporting opposingly-located first and second massage tools mounted thereon to define between them a massage gap, wherein a body portion is receivable for massaging. The gap is adjustable while the apparatus is in use, for the massage tools in use to exert therapeutically effective force substantially continuously on a massage-receiving body portion received in the gap. The massage tools are interchangeable with massage tools of other shapes designed to provide different therapeutic effects. The frame is open- and closeable to accommodate limbs of different sizes.
Body stretcher
A body stretcher includes a floor-standing frame, wherein a horizontal plate is connected to an upper surface, with a sleeve tube, pulleys are mounted on a headrest, one end of the movable rod is connected with a foot hook frame, an end, inserted into the sleeve tube, of the movable rod is connected with a rack, an elastic rope winds across the pulleys to be connected with a head protector; a support is arranged on the outer side of the sleeve tube, one end of a manual swing rod is hinged to the support, an active pawl is hinged to the manual swing rod, one end of the active pawl is matched with a toothed groove of the gear, a check pawl is hinged to the support, and a compression spring drives one end of the check pawl to be matched with the toothed groove of the gear.
Methods of vibrationally exciting a laryngeal nerve
A laryngeal nerve exciting system includes a collar holding a bridge, or a neckband, pressing soft tissue nerve exciters against a patient's neck providing a source of vibrations to stimulate the laryngeal nerve through the larynx. At least one exciter, and preferably two exciters, provide vibrations at preferably 70 Hz to 110 Hz and sufficiently strong to penetrate to the laryngeal nerve. The exciters may be held by the collar circling the neck, or by the neck band partially circling the neck. The therapy system includes a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) and software which wirelessly connects, monitors, and triggers the device. The system may be used to treat dysphagia, chronic cough, and spasmodic dysphonia.
Cosmetic applicator with rotatable application surface
A cosmetic package for applying a product including a cosmetic, care or pharmaceutical product onto the keratinous substrate comprises a receptacle and a cosmetic applicator. The cosmetic applicator comprises an applicator head, a stem and a closure. The applicator head further comprises a connecting member, an applying member and a rivet member. The connecting member further comprises a shank portion at a proximal portion thereof, a locking portion at a distal portion thereof, and a flexing portion which extends between the shank portion and the locking portion. The applying member rotates with respect to the stem and the flexible portion of the applicator head flexes during application of the cosmetic product onto the keratinous substrate.
Self-Operable Massage Therapy Device
A massage device that includes a dorsal brace, a dorsal projection, and a first and second arm. The dorsal projection attaches to the dorsal brace. The first arm connects to a first end of the dorsal brace and the second arm connects to a second end of the dorsal brace. Both arms extend in the same direction and are substantially parallel to each other. Also disclosed is a massage device that includes a dorsal brace, a plurality of dorsal projections, and a first and second arm. One or more of the plurality of dorsal projections attach to the dorsal brace. The first arm connects to a first end of the dorsal brace and the second arm connects to a second end of the dorsal brace. Both arms extend in the same direction and are substantially parallel to each other.
Bendable Exercise Bar
An exercise device comprising a bendable pole with spring-like properties. The bendable pole has grips at opposing ends and in a midsection. The exercise device is configured to be used for a variety of exercise methods. The exercise device provides personal fitness tracking in conjunction with a mobile software application.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR USING MECHANICAL AFFECTIVE TOUCH THERAPY TO REDUCE STRESS, ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION
Methods and devices that reduce stress, anxiety and/or depression in a human using mechanical affective touch therapy is provided. In on embodiment, the method comprises (1) generating mechanical vibrations using a sinusoidal waveform and a mechanical transducer of a transcutaneous mechanical stimulation device in response to an applied electronic drive signal, (2) controlling the mechanical vibrations of the electronic drive signal by a controller board so that the mechanical vibrations have a frequency of less than 20 Hz; and (3) delivering the mechanical vibrations to the body of the human via the mechanical stimulation device, thereby providing the human with transcutaneous mechanical stimulation that reduces the human's anxiety, stress and/or depression.
