Embodiments disclosed herein relate to a garment system including at least one sensor and at least one actuator that operates responsive to sensing feedback from the at least one sensor to cause a flexible compression garment to selectively constrict or selectively dilate, thereby compressing or relieving compression against at least one body part of a subject. Such selective constriction or dilation can improve muscle functioning or joint functioning during use of motion-conducive equipment, such as an exercise bike or rowing machine.

The inventive device and methods disclosed herein allow an individual to create and sustain a differential stretch to the anterior muscles and ligaments of the torso, hips and legs. The device is comprised of a base frame, a vertical member secured to the base frame, a rotational lift lever secured to the vertical member at a vertical pivot member, a lower extremity elevation member secured to the rotational lift member, and at least one lower extremity attachment device secured to the lower extremity elevation member. In methods of use, the device is used to lift an individual's legs off of the ground, while the person is lying face down, so as to create a stretch in the anterior muscles, fascia, or ligaments. The device has various planes of rotation, which allows for differential stretching in the various quadrants of the person's torso. In addition, the device is adjustable in height as well as displacement along a track within the base to accommodate different body types.

A respiratory treatment device can include a removable cup portion. The cup portion can be removably couple to a weighted head. The weighted head can be connected to a first end of a shaft. A second end of the shaft can be connected to a handle. A center of gravity of the device along a length of the device can be modified by increasing or decreasing the weight of the handle and/or of the weighted head. A user of the treatment device can tap a patient with the cup portion of the device. The weighted head can increase deflection in shaft of the device during use.

An apparatus for placing pressure on a plurality of trigger points includes a support, a first pressure element, and a second pressure element. The first pressure element is carried by the support. The second pressure element is carried by the support. The first pressure element is moveable with respect to the support, and the second pressure element is moveable with respect to the support. The first pressure element and the second pressure element are also moveable with respect to each other. The support has a length so that the support can be attached around a lower portion of the trunk of a human body. The first pressure element and the second pressure element are shaped to apply an external force to at least two portions of the human body proximate to where a psoas muscle, an Iliacus muscle, and a rectus femorus muscle intersect.

The invention also discloses novel structures and methods for adjusting the specific locations of one or more heat wraps on a person's torso.
