Methods and apparatuses for dispersing a compound within the patient are described. In one embodiment, an effective amount of a compound may be present in the cerebrospinal fluid of a patient and a force may be applied to the torso of the patient sufficient to enhance the convection of the cerebrospinal fluid. In another embodiment, a bolus including a compound may be injected into the cerebrospinal fluid of a patient. The volume of the bolus may be between about 5% and 30% of the total volume of the cerebrospinal fluid of the patient.

An adjustable respirator shell, suitable for being worn on a human body trunk, includes a body, a belt and a buffer. The body includes a protrusive portion and a contact portion. The protrusive portion has an opening connecting a fluid pressure controller, and the contact portion is to contact the human body trunk. The belt, connecting the body, is to surround the human body trunk so as to fasten the adjustable respirator shell on the human body trunk. The buffer covers a circumference of the contact portion, and the contact portion contacts the human body trunk via the buffer. In addition, the buffer includes at least one cushion.

A high frequency chest wall oscillation apparatus includes an air pulse generator carried by a housing. Circuitry is carried by the housing and configured to control the air pulse generator. A control panel is carried by the housing and coupled to the circuitry. The control panel permits a user to select first and second respiratory ailments to be treated by application of pressure pulses from the air pulse generator to a chest of a patient.
