Defibrillator Display Including CPR Depth Information
Systems and methods related to the field of cardiac resuscitation, and in particular to devices for assisting rescuers in performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) are described herein.
Method for monitoring and improving forward blood flow during CPR
Devices and methods for blood flow enhancement and hemodynamic power monitoring are provided. A blood flow enhancement device includes a pump system configured to be coupled to a central vasculature of a subject during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The pump system includes a pumping mechanism configured to increase forward blood flow generated during the CPR while substantially limiting backward blood flow generated during the CPR. The pumping mechanism being operated concurrently with the CPR. The hemodynamic power monitor is configured to control a chest compression device and an active valve.
HEALTH MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
A therapeutic wrap includes a flexible member configured to wrap around an affected area. Actuators are operably coupled to the flexible member. Each actuator is operable between a deployed state and a non-deployed state. A first coupling feature is disposed proximate a first edge on a first surface of the flexible member. A second coupling feature is disposed proximate a second edge on a second surface of the flexible member. The first coupling feature is configured to engage the second coupling feature when the flexible member is wrapped around the affected area and when the flexible member is slidably adjusted relative to the affected area. A retaining feature is coupled to at least one end of the flexible member and configured to retain the flexible member in a selected position on the affected area.
EMERGENCY CARDIAC ARREST RESUSCITATION DRONE SYSTEM
An emergency cardiac arrest resuscitation drone system that includes a drone, a mechanical chest compression device that is attached to the drone, and a control system connected to the drone. The control system is configured to activate and direct the drone to a geographic location of an emergency. The drone has a GPS system, a microphone/speaker, and a camera that enable a medical certified staff member to provide step by step instructions to a bystander at the geographic location of the emergency.
EXTERNAL CHEST COMPRESSION AND DEFIBRILLATION SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND METHODS OF OPERATION
Resuscitation devices for performing external chest compression (ECC) and defibrillation on a person and methods using the devices are disclosed. The disclosed devices can include chest compression members and a communication module that can communicate with a remote command center. The disclosed devices can also include an optional defibrillation module that may be integrated. The devices can be coupled to a backboard and can include physiological sensors, electrodes, wheels, controllers, human interface devices, cooling modules, ventilators, cameras, and voice output devices. Methods can include defibrillating, pacing, ventilating, cooling, and performing ECC in an integrated, coordinated, and/or synchronous manner using the full capabilities of the device. Some devices include controllers executing methods for automatically performing the coordinated activities utilizing the device capabilities.
ELEVATION TIMING SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HEAD UP CPR
A method for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) includes elevating the head, heart and shoulders of an individual from a starting elevation angle to a final elevation angle greater than zero degrees relative to horizontal while performing CPR by repeatedly compressing the chest. The method includes elevating the brain within a time period selected to be slow enough to permit a sufficient amount of blood to flow to the brain throughout the elevation time period. The method also includes regulating the intrathoracic pressure of the individual while performing CPR. The performance of chest compressions is stopped and after stopping the performance of chest compressions, the head, heart, and shoulders are promptly from the final elevation angle within a timeframe selected to prevent significant drainage of blood from the brain until the head, heart and shoulders are lowered.
REDUCING ELECTROCARDIOGRAM ARTIFACTS DURING AND POST CPR
A portable medical device having improved ECG trace display and reporting. Embodiments implement features to ameliorate artifacts created by virtue of attempting to eliminate compression artifacts due to mechanical compression devices. Other embodiments additionally implement features to seek to detect the occurrence of ROSC while chest compressions are ongoing.
Acute Care Eco System Integrating Customized Devices of Personalized Care With Networked Population Based Management
A personalized acute care treatment kit is provided that includes components necessary for a lay caregiver to treat an acute cardiac event. The kit includes a medication box provided with medications selected according to the needs of the owner, a CPR device, a pacemaker, a defibrillator, monitoring and diagnostic devices and a computing device. The computing device is provided with a mobile application that captures patient data from the devices in the kit and automatically sends an alarm to a treatment professional when the patient data exceeds a predetermined threshold and establishes a communication link to with the treatment professional to allow the treatment professional to instruct the lay caregiver in using the contents of the kit to provide acute care.
Chest Compliance Directed Chest Compressions
Among other things, in one aspect, we describe a system for assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The system includes at least one sensor; and one or more processors configured for calculating a chest compliance relationship based on data received from the at least one sensor, and determining a neutral position of chest compression based at least in part on a feature of the chest compliance relationship. The system can take the form of an active compression-decompression device.
Device for Assisting a First Aider with a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
The invention relates to a device for assisting a first aider with a cardiopulmonary resuscitation of a person suffering cardiac arrest, comprising a transport housing (1), in which a sensor apparatus (4) and two adhesive electrodes (2), which are or can be connected to the sensor apparatus (4), can be stowed. The sensor apparatus (4) allows data to be acquired while the first-aid measures for resuscitation are performed. The sensor apparatus (4) comprises an adhesive (5) for attachment to the chest of the patient (3). The chest compressions, i.e. depth of compression and compression frequency, can be detected by means of a motion sensor. An interface for data transfer allows wireless communication with a mobile terminal (6). Furthermore, the sensor apparatus (4) contains a high-voltage store so that, after connection to the adhesive electrodes (2), a single defibrillation shock can be delivered.
