Particle separator for an additive manufacturing system and method of operation
A aerodynamic particle separator for an Additive Manufacturing System (AMS) has an air supply device to entrain a mixed powder in an airstream flowing through a housing. Each particle in the mixed powder is imparted with a momentum dependent upon the particle weight and size. Utilizing this momentum characteristic, the heavier particles are capable of crossing streamlines of the airstream at a bend portion of the housing and the lighter particles generally stay within the streamlines. Utilizing this dynamic characteristic, the particles of specific weight ranges are collected through respective offtake holes in the housing and controllably fed to a spreader of the AMS.

SUCTION DEVICE FOR PARTICLES DURING MACHINING PROCESSING OF TRACK RAILS
A suction device includes a plurality of radial fans. Each respective radial fan has a suction opening for drawing in particles that are removed during processing, and an outlet opening for discharging the particles into a collection device. Each radial fan has a fan wheel driven in a rotationally movable manner about a rotation axis. The fan wheel has a circumferential face and an impact face. The impact face faces the suction opening for radially redirecting the particles that strike the impact face. The suction device further includes at least one collection channel circumferentially and partially surrounding the fan wheel of each respective radial fan. The circumferential faces of the fan wheels of adjacent radial fans delimit a roller gap. The collection channel opens in the roller gap.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION OF MATERIALS CONTAMINATED WITH HEAVY MINERALS
The invention relates to a method and system for the environmental remediation of materials that are contaminated with heavy minerals, such as heavy metals. The invention finds utility in removing heavy minerals from materials such as soils, sediments, mine tailings and ores. The invention provides a means for removing heavy minerals from contaminated materials without the use of water while reducing the generation of dust. Thus, the invention provides an environmentally friendly method for the remediation of sites that are contaminated with heavy minerals.

CLASSIFYING APPARATUS
An apparatus for classifying fine particles in slurry provides a sharp particle size distribution with few mixed coarse particles and high classification accuracy.
The apparatus includes a rotor (15) including classification chambers (17) between blades (16) radially arranged at circumferentially regular intervals, and classifies particles so that a classified particle size is constant in an entire radial region from an outer periphery to an inner periphery of the classification chamber. The blade (16) of the rotor has a circumferential thickness t(d) increasing toward the outer periphery, and the classification chamber (17) has a width increasing toward the inner periphery.
Method for separating a granular mixture in a flowing medium and device for carrying out said method
The invention is used in various branches of industry, in particular in agriculture for preparing seeds for sowing and for selection purposes. The method of separating a granular mixture in a flowing medium is based on a gravitational supply of particles, with an aerodynamic, monotonously increasing action thereon with a cascade of flat jets, said cascade being stabilized in terms of pressure and discharge. Large impurities are removed from the granular mixture beforehand, and stable parameters are maintained in the separation chamber. The device comprises a vibrating screen, an adjustable hopper with an agitator and a vibrating chute, a generator of a cascade of flat jets, which is connected to a drive for supplying air under pressure, a fraction collector and a separation chamber. The output of the separation chamber is covered with a filtering element in the form of a rotating drum with a calibrating sifter on the surface, said sifter being connected to a cyclone.
SEPARATOR
A separator having a housing, a feed cone and a rotatable dispersing plate, on the upper face of which dispersing blades which are distributed across the periphery of the dispersing plate are arranged. The feed cone is arranged on the housing at a distance from the dispersing plate. The precision of the separator is improved compared to conventional separators.
