Parcel sorting system and method
Provided are a parcel sorting system and method. The parcel sorting system is arranged in layers and includes: a parcel sorting layer located on an upper layer of the parcel sorting system, a moveable container carrying layer located on a lower layer of the parcel sorting system, a parcel delivery robot and a control device. The parcel sorting layer includes a modular entity platform that is a physical platform formed by splicing multiple splicable units and used for sorting parcels. The modular entity platform includes multiple delivery lattices arranged in an array and a traveling area constituted by gaps between the lattices and used for the parcel delivery robot traveling. One delivery lattices corresponds to one or more delivery path directions. The moveable container carrying layer includes multiple moveable containers, and a part of the containers are located below the lattices and receive the parcel from the parcel sorting layer.

SYSTEM, DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR ITEM SORTING AND CONVEYING
Provided is a package sorting method, a sorting area layout, a sorting system, and a path optimization method. The package sorting method includes: dividing a sorting area into at least a first logical partition close to a first item collecting area and a second logical partition close to a second item collecting area, where the first logical partition includes a first item dropping area, and the second logical partition includes a second item dropping area. By this method, a total path of package delivery is reduced.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DELIVERY VEHICLE RECONFIGURABLE ON-BOARD PACKAGE SORTING
The disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for a reconfigurable on-board package sorting system for a delivery vehicle including an enclosed storage compartment with a horizontal plane, a plurality of bins for holding packages, each bin including a computer readable identifier, a set of correlated conveyor belts on each horizontal plane, the correlated conveyors belts sized as a function of the bins, including at conveyor belts linearly oriented on the horizontal plane, mixing conveyors, each oriented adjacent to each convey belt to provide directional transition to a next conveyor belt, wherein the correlated conveyor belts provide directional movement of the bins in a loop on the horizontal plane by selective rotation of each conveyor belt, and a computer including a processor and memory to receive data from each identifier, the processor including instructions to: identify a location of bin and direct the operation of the correlated conveyor belts.

METHOD FOR SORTING CARGO USING THE AUTOMATED GUIDED VEHICLE
A method of sorting cargo using an automated guided vehicle is provided. The method of sorting cargo includes: recognizing the pieces of cargo; assigning a location of a carrier pocket into which the recognized cargo is loaded among the plurality of carrier pockets in the automated guided vehicle and a location of the destination chute from which the carrier pocket discharges the cargo; loading the cargo into the location of the assigned carrier pocket; for consecutively supplied pieces of cargo thereafter, repeatedly performing identifier information recognition of the cargo, location assignment, and cargo loading sequentially; sequentially discharging the pieces of cargo to the locations of the assigned destination chutes by allowing the automated guided vehicle into which all pieces of cargo are loaded to start and move along a movement path; and returning the automated guided vehicle after the automated guided vehicle has finished discharging.
SYSTEM FOR SORTING ITEMS TO BE SORTED INTO TARGET POINTS, LOGICALLY LINKED TO THEIR DESTINATION, IN A MATRIX ARRANGEMENT
Items are sorted into target points that are logically linked to their destination. The target points are arranged in a matrix array and in a first plane. One or more destinations can be logically assigned, at least temporarily, to the target points. First sorting conveyors run in a first direction and have discharge modules which can be actuated by a sorting controller. The conveyors are arranged in a second plane above the first plane and run between rows of target points. The discharge modules in the first sorting conveyors can serve target points on both sides of the sorting conveyors with sorting items intended for these target points. A pre-sorting conveyor with discharge modules is arranged laterally of the array of target points and is controlled to pass a sorting item to the sorting conveyor that serves the target point intended for this sorting item.

Sorting installation for parcels and method for sorting parcels
A sorting installation for parcels uses an efficient sorting process based on properties of the parcels. The sorting installation has at least one parcel inlet and a parcel outlet that discharges sorted parcels for external transportation. A conveying mechanism transports the parcels to be sorted from the parcel inlet into a sorting area of the sorting installation. The sorting area has a sorting mechanism that sorts the multiplicity of parcels according to at least one item of parcel-related sorting information and removes them from the conveying mechanism at a transfer station. The sorting area also includes primary buffer stores, which receive and temporarily store parcels sorted by the sorting mechanism according to the parcel-related sorting information. The primary buffer stores are set up to be moved to the at least one transfer station depending on the at least one item of parcel-related sorting information.
