There is provided a projection instruction device that generates a projection image to be projected on a parcel based on a reading result of parcel identification information included in a label attached to the parcel, the device including: a processor; and a memory, in which by cooperating with the memory, the processor detects occurrence of an error, and moves the parcel to upstream in a case where the occurrence of the error is detected.

Some embodiments of the disclosure provide systems and methods for improving sorting and routing of objects, including in sorting systems. Characteristic dimensional data for one or more objects with common barcode information can be compared to dimensional data of another object with the common barcode information to evaluate a classification (e.g., a side-by-side exception) of the other object. In some cases, the evaluation can include identifying the classification as incorrect (e.g., as a false side-by-side exception).

Some embodiments of the disclosure provide systems and methods for improving sorting and routing of objects, including in sorting systems. Embodiments of a system and method for sorting and delivering articles in a processing facility. Delivery endpoints are divided and grouped into stop groups. A first sorter sorts items according to stop group and outputs the items to trays. The output trays from the first sorter are loaded to a second sorter. The second sorter sorts items for each stop group into trays based on carrier route segments. A manifest is created that comprises a list of the items in a tray. A mobile computing device alerts a delivery carrier when there is an item that needs to be delivered.

Embodiments of a system and method for sorting and delivering articles in a processing facility. Delivery endpoints are divided and grouped into stop groups. A first sorter sorts items according to stop group and outputs the items to trays. The output trays from the first sorter are loaded to a second sorter. The second sorter sorts items for each stop group into trays based on carrier route segments. A manifest is created that comprises a list of the items in a tray. A camera device is provided that comprises a camera having an image sensor for recording images of the objects and at least one first deflection element, and wherein the field of view of the camera has at least one first part field of vision with detection of the first deflection element and a second part field of vision with detection of the first deflection element. In this respect, the first deflection element is arranged such that a first perspective of the first part field of vision is a different one than a second perspective of the second part field of vision; the first part field of vision thus provides a different perspective of the object than the first part field of vision so that at least two sides of the object are simultaneously recorded by the image sensor.

A method for handling goods includes: acquiring goods information of goods to be sorted; determining, according to the goods information, a target sorting container from a plurality of candidate sorting containers, wherein the target sorting container is located on a sorting container moving device, and a plurality of sorting containers are placed on the sorting container moving device; and if the target sorting container is not located at a goods receiving position corresponding to the goods to be sorted, controlling the sorting container moving device to move the target sorting container to the goods receiving position, and controlling a sorting device to deliver the goods to be sorted to the target sorting container; or if the target sorting container is located at the goods receiving position corresponding to the goods to be sorted, controlling the sorting device to deliver the goods to be sorted to the target sorting container.

A method for handling goods includes: acquiring goods information of goods to be sorted; determining, according to the goods information, a target sorting container from a plurality of candidate sorting containers, wherein the target sorting container is located on a sorting container moving device, and a plurality of sorting containers are placed on the sorting container moving device; and if the target sorting container is not located at a goods receiving position corresponding to the goods to be sorted, controlling the sorting container moving device to move the target sorting container to the goods receiving position, and controlling a sorting device to deliver the goods to be sorted to the target sorting container; or if the target sorting container is located at the goods receiving position corresponding to the goods to be sorted, controlling the sorting device to deliver the goods to be sorted to the target sorting container.

In order to detect a correct sorting and a correct passing of an object through an assigned opening of a plurality of openings, a sorting detection system for detecting a passage of the object through the opening of the plurality of openings is provided. Each opening is assigned to a container. The containers receive the object; at least a first sensor identifies the object and generates an identification signal. A control unit receives the identification signal of the first sensor and assigns the identified object to a container based on the identification signal. At least one second sensor having a field of view directed towards the openings and includes at least one detection surface. The detection surface is located within the respective container at a predetermined distance from an edge of a respective opening, and an object passing the detection surface triggers a detection signal of the second sensor.

In order to detect a correct sorting and a correct passing of an object through an assigned opening of a plurality of openings, a sorting detection system for detecting a passage of the object through the opening of the plurality of openings is provided. Each opening is assigned to a container. The containers receive the object; at least a first sensor identifies the object and generates an identification signal. A control unit receives the identification signal of the first sensor and assigns the identified object to a container based on the identification signal. At least one second sensor having a field of view directed towards the openings and includes at least one detection surface. The detection surface is located within the respective container at a predetermined distance from an edge of a respective opening, and an object passing the detection surface triggers a detection signal of the second sensor.
