Method and system for conveying articles and an apparatus for doing the same
A conveyor for transporting and elevating articles and a method and system for conveying articles up inclines is provided. The conveyor has a conveyor belt and a plurality of support elements extending outward from the article-conveying surface of the conveyor belt advancing upward along the incline. The support elements prevent conveyed articles from sliding down the conveyor belt on the incline. The article-conveying surface of the conveyor belt may provide a low-friction retention surface to articles leaning away from the conveyor belt on the incline.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING METAL PARENT PARTS AND FOR SORTING METAL WASTE PARTS
A device and a method for processing parent parts and for sorting waste parts thereby separated. For this purpose, an optical detection unit is provided, which is configured to detect at least one geometric feature G of each waste part and to generate a control signal S corresponding to the at least one detected geometric feature G. The control signal S is transmitted to a sorting unit. The fed waste part is sorted depending on the received control signal S. It is thus possible to assign the separated waste parts to a specific parent part. This in turn enables an assignment and determination of the material of which the waste part consists, which specifically corresponds to the material of which the parent part consists. This enables the waste parts to be separated into different categories.
Portable composable machine vision system for identifying projectiles
A machine vision system for automatically identifying and inspecting objects is disclosed, including composable vision-based recognition modules and a decision algorithm to perform the final determination on object type and quality. This vision system has been used to develop a Projectile Identification System and an Automated Tactical Ammunition Classification System. The technology can be used to create numerous other inspection and automated identification systems.
Apparatus and method for applying bar codes to pellet-shaped articles
A conveyer mechanism (110) may include one or more composition inspection units provided along the intended product transport path. The product's composition, e.g., it's ink composition, is compared with a predetermined standard, to determine whether the product is acceptable. A bar code (48, 45.1, 47.1, 85) may be provided to an external surface of the article for identification/traceability purposes.
METHOD, APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR SORTING WASTE
Method for sorting waste, in which method the waste or recycleable material intended for sorting is brought in waste bags to a sorting apparatus, which includes a conveyor, from which the waste bags belonging to different waste components are separated from each other by guiding them into the containers according to the waste components or to further processing. In the method a waste bag, an identifier arranged in connection with it and/or the content of the waste bag is identified with a sensor system, which includes a number of sensors monitoring different properties, which sensors essentially simultaneously read and/or identify a waste bag, an identifier arranged in connection with it and/or the content of the waste bag when the waste bag is transferred on the conveyor via the reading area of the sensors, and in which method on the basis of information coming from the sensors the waste bags are sorted into different waste components using one or more handling devices of the sorting apparatus. The invention also relates to an apparatus and to a system.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING AND ADDRESSING ISSUE CLASSIFICATIONS FOR OBJECT SORTING
Some embodiments of the disclosure provide systems and methods for improving sorting and routing of objects, including in sorting systems. Characteristic dimensional data for one or more objects with common barcode information can be compared to dimensional data of another object with the common barcode information to evaluate a classification (e.g., a side-by-side exception) of the other object. In some cases, the evaluation can include identifying the classification as incorrect (e.g., as a false side-by-side exception).
System and method for sorting items
A system and associated method is provided for sorting parts, which includes a conveyor system for receiving and circulating a plurality of randomly presented parts, a sorting buffer for accumulating selected parts from the plurality of randomly presented parts in an assigned buffer location, and a sequencing system for sequencing the accumulated selected parts.
Conveying systems and methods of associating data with an item transported by a conveying system
Systems and methods of associating data to an item being transported by a conveying system are disclosed. The item and data associated with the item are received at a first zone of the conveying system. The data is stored in a first computer-readable storage medium associated with the first zone. The item is transported to a second zone of the conveying system, and the data stored in the first computer-readable storage medium is transferred to a second computer-readable storage medium associated with the second zone.
RIGID TRAY CONTAINER AND METHOD OF USE
Embodiments of this disclosure include a rigid tray container and methods and equipment for using the rigid tray container in batched process operations. In one embodiment, a mass container is sized and dimensioned to receive one or several rigid tray containers. In other embodiments, equipment is configured to lid/unlid, secure, stack, load/unload, and buffer rigid tray containers. In other embodiments, equipment is configured to stack and stage mass containers. In some embodiments, methods are provided for batch processing items.
MATERIAL HANDLING APPARATUS WITH DELIVERY VEHICLES
A method and apparatus are provided for sorting items to a plurality of sort destinations. The items are fed into the apparatus at an input station having a scanning station. The scanning station evaluates one or more characteristics of each item. The items are then loaded onto one of a plurality of independently controlled delivery vehicles. The delivery vehicles are individually driven to sort destinations. Once at the appropriate sort destination, the delivery vehicle ejects the item to the sort destination and returns to receive another item to be delivered. A re-induction conveyor may be provided for receiving select items from the vehicles and conveying the items back to the input station for re-processing. Additionally, a controller is provided to control the movement of the vehicles based on a characteristic each item being delivered by each vehicle. The system may also include vehicles having edge-detection assemblies for detecting items being loaded onto or discharged from the vehicles.
