SORTING SUPPORT APPARATUS, SORTING SUPPORT SYSTEM, SORTING SUPPORT METHOD, AND PROGRAM
A sorting support apparatus is provided with: an input part that inputs a transmission image obtained by radiating an inspection target with electromagnetic waves; a storage part that stores a plurality of learning models optimized respectively for at least one article and being associated with an assumed usage condition; and a determination part that selects one of the learning models based on a specified usage condition and uses the learning model to determine whether or not the one or more articles is contained in the inspection target.
CONCENTRATING RARE EARTH ELEMENTS FROM COAL WASTE
Differences in x-ray absorption coefficients and ash content are used to process coal waste and concentrate rare earth elements (REE) found in coal seams. A method for processing the coal waste includes receiving, by a detector, at least one collimated x-ray beam from an x-ray source that has been passed through a sample of coal waste; determining measurements of at least one x-ray absorption characteristic of the sample based on the received at least one collimated x-ray beam; and identifying a first region in the sample having a concentration of rare earth elements based on the measured x-ray absorption characteristic.
Method and device for recycling metal scrap
A method for recycling metal scraps, particularly aluminum scraps, is provided. In the method, an amount of metal scrap, particularly aluminum scrap, is provided in the form of a plurality of separated split lots. A composition analysis is carried out for each split lot and an item of composition information based on said composition analysis is associated with each split lot that has been analyzed. Also provided is a device configured for carrying out said method.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGING RAW MATERIALS OF INDUSTRIAL IMPORTANCE
Method and system are presented for managing material recycling process. Plastic and rubber material condition data is provided being indicative, for each of one or more plastic materials in a product, of preceding use of said plastic material in association with one or more plastic product types. The plastic material condition data is analyzed, and sorting data is generated for each of said one or more plastic materials. Based on the sorting data, marking data is generated for at least one of said one or more plastic materials, the marking data including at least one marker to be introduced into each of said one or more plastic materials to provide electromagnetic radiation signal for managing a recycling process of the plastic material. At least one of the plastic material condition data and the sorting data is analyzed, and certificate data is generated and stored charactering a current condition of said plastic material to be sorted.

Method for sorting contaminated catalysts or adsorbents
A method and a device for separation of at least one catalyst and/or adsorbent from a homogeneous mixture of catalysts and/or adsorbents containing one or more metal, semi-metal or non-metal contaminant(s) deposited thereon, making it possible to separate catalysts or adsorbents according to the presence or absence of contaminant and also according to the contaminant content, starting from a sorting threshold that corresponds to a content and that is defined by the operator.

Material sorting system
A material sorting system sorts materials, such as scrap pieces composed of unknown metal alloys, as a function of their detected x-ray fluorescence. The x-ray fluorescence may be converted into an elemental composition signature that is then compared to an elemental composition signature of a reference material in order to identify and/or classify each of the materials, which are then sorted into separate groups based on such an identification/classification. The material sorting system may include an in-line x-ray tube having a plurality of separate x-ray sources, each of which can irradiate a separate stream of materials to be sorted.
