Dedusting of wood boards by use of two counter-rotating pairs of brushes with a vacuum system

A deduster is comprised of two sets (pairs) of counter-rotating dedusting brushes in cooperation with a vacuum system for saw dust removal from wooden lumber. In addition to these features, the deduster may feature a separate, movable, top brush assembly that can be easily adjusted for different board thicknesses and raised up to allow for clearing board jams and for pass-through if boards were to be run without dedusting. This deduster apparatus is modular, thereby allowing it to be positioned over an existing machine or a lumber board unscrambler machine such as a lugged unscrambler machine. There is also a deduster for a board handling hopper.

The system includes a channel, a plurality of liquid processing units and gas processing units arranged in series, and a sheet-transfer mechanism for transferring sheet material from an inlet at one end of the channel toward an outlet at an opposite end of the channel so that a surface treatment liquid can be filled into each liquid processing unit to surface-treat the sheet material and gas can be drawn out of each gas processing unit to remove waste liquid and impurities from the surface of the sheet material, enabling the sheet material to be alternatively surface treated and cleaned by the liquid processing units and the gas processing units in a proper order, ensuring a high level of surface treatment quality and increasing the yield.

An apparatus for washing a mat, which enables a user to introduce the mat into the apparatus pile side up so, that it can be inspected and pretreated before cleaning by the apparatus. The mat is inclined in the wash and/or rinse module of the apparatus, while a plurality of high pressure nozzles spray water onto the pile side of the mat. Water flowing down the inclined mat pre-wets regions of the mat to pre-treat these regions before they are treated by the high pressure nozzles. The apparatus may include a trough at the bottom of the incline to further soak the mat before treatment by the high pressure nozzles. The apparatus may include means for holding the mat flat on the incline, means for extracting water from the cleaned mat, and means for cleaning and reusing water.
