ADAPTIVE COMPRESSION THERAPY SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems, devices and methods for providing active and/or passive compression therapy to a body part can include a compression device worn over a compression stocking. The compression device can have a pulley based drive train that is driven by a motor to tighten and loosen compression elements, such as compression straps, in a precise, rapid, and balanced manner. Sensors can be used in the compression device and/or compression stockings to provide feedback to modulate the compression treatment parameters.
APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR TISSUE REGENERATION
An apparatus, system, and method for the regeneration of tissue by pre-tensioning of tissue prior to or in conjunction with the application of mechanotransduction therapy.
Wearable assistance devices and methods of operation
Wearable assistance devices and methods of operating the same are provided. A wearable assistance device includes an upper-body interface with a front side and a rear side and a lower-body interface with a front side and a rear side. The assistance device also includes one or more elastic members, each of the elastic members mechanically coupling the upper-body interface to the lower-body interface and extending from the rear side of the upper-body interface to the rear side of the lower-body interface and along a back of the user so as to provide an assistive force parallel to the back of the user. Further, the assistance device also includes a clutch mechanism associated with each one of the elastic members, the clutch mechanism configured for selectively adjusting the assistive force provided by the one of the elastic members.
SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR SYNCHRONIZING EXTERNALCOMPRESSION OF A LIMB FOR SURGICAL USE
Embodiments relate to devices, systems and methods of assisting blood flow return to the heart from a limb for fluid responsiveness and limb warming. The device comprising a wearable garment (115) and a compression apparatus (110) embedded in the garment (115) for applying an external compression according to a compression sequence to a muscle of a limb of a user based on real-time measurements during surgery.
Gait training exercise and analysis systems for body support systems with adjustable user body weight force
Gait analysis systems are provided with body support systems for user's self-adjustment of body weight force when ambulating with the body support systems. The gait analysis systems with the body support systems can be used with a treadmill or over a fixed surface for gait training and analysis with the ability to adjust the user's body weight force during the collection of gait data. Gait data for analysis is collected by an array of sensors mounted on the body support systems in various combinations for sensing gait movement, video imaging, heel strike and toe off states, video processing, feet pressure maps and electromyography.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ASSISTING WALKING
Provided is a method and device for assisting walking of a user that may receive a pressure value applied to a sole of a user from a pressure sensor, acquire acceleration information associated with a movement of the user from an acceleration sensor, determine a gait phase based on the pressure value and the acceleration information, determine an assist torque corresponding to the determined gait phase, and control a driver to output the assist torque.
Muscle optimization device and method
A device and method are provided for therapy and treatment of biological tissue such as muscle, tendon, and ligament tissue, by use of a device and method in which therapeutic vibrational frequency resonance patterns are transmitted to tissues of a patient. The resonance frequencies originate from many resonance domains, including vitamins, minerals, herbs, amino acids, and fatty acids. Each domain includes therapeutic frequency resonance patterns. These resonance patterns may be passively excited and transmitted to a patient to enhance tissue function, to decrease the normal rehabilitation time of damaged tissue, and provide therapeutic benefits for muscle tissue dysfunction. Therapeutic frequency resonance patterns may also be actively excited by a delivery mechanism that uses electromagnetic or mechanical waves to interact with the device. The actively excited device transmits the therapeutic frequency resonance patterns to the patients for similar enhancements and therapeutic benefits.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING USER'S DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS PREVENTION AND DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM UTILIZATION COMPLIANCE
A system and method determines a user's compliance with a prescribed therapeutic pneumatic compression treatment by applying external pressure to a body limb using a pneumatic compression sleeve having a pneumatically fillable cell; measuring pneumatic pressure within the pneumatically fillable cell; generating a pressure signal corresponding to the measured pneumatic pressure; determining biological events associated with the user based upon the pressure signal; generating a positive detection signal for each determined biological event associated with the user; and determining a user's compliance with a prescribed therapeutic pneumatic compression treatment when a predetermined number of positive detection signals have been generated within a predetermined time interval.
DIAGNOSING AND TREATING MOVEMENT DISORDERS
A system for obtaining and analyzing data for overall joint motion from a plurality of joints of a subject experiencing a movement disorder involves a plurality of kinematic sensors configured to be placed on a body of a subject experiencing a movement disorder proximal a plurality of joints of the subject. The kinematic sensors are selected to measure overall joint motion with sufficient degrees of freedom for individual joints so that data collected by the sensors can be deconstructed into multiple degrees of freedom for individual joints and analyzed to provide amplitude of the movements caused by the movement disorder and/or relative contributions from and/or directional bias for each muscle group that may be implicated in the movement of each joint. Such a system permits methods for determining a treatment regimen for treating the movement disorder, whereby the treatment regimen is based on the amplitude of the movements and/or the relative contribution and/or directional bias of each muscle group to the movements caused by the movement disorder.
ASSISTANCE APPARATUS, ASSISTANCE METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
An assistance apparatus includes a first wire and a second wire that couple an upper-body belt and a left knee belt to each other on or above a front part and back part of the body of a user, respectively, a third wire and a fourth wire that couple the upper-body belt and a right knee belt to each other on or above the front part and back part of the body of the user, respectively, and a motor. When assistance is stopped, the motor reduces the tension of the first wire during a first stop period starting in a boundary period in a first period and ending in a start period of a second period, generates no tension in the second wire during the second period, reduces the tension of the third wire during a second stop period starting in a boundary period in a third period and ending in a start period of a fourth period, and generates no tension in the fourth wire during the fourth period. The boundary period includes a timing at which each leg of the user shifts from a stance phase to a swing phase.
