COMPOUNDING DEVICE, SYSTEM, KIT, SOFTWARE, AND METHOD
An exemplary compounding system and method can include a transfer set that includes a manifold for assisting in transferring a plurality of ingredients from supply container(s) to a final container. The manifold can include a first channel in fluid communication with at least one primary ingredient, and a second channel in fluid communication with a plurality of secondary ingredients. The first channel and second channel can be in fluid isolation from each other such that the at least one primary ingredient does not mix with the plurality of secondary ingredients within the manifold. The transfer set can include a plurality of inlet lines in fluid communication with the manifold and two outlet lines configured for connection to two separate pumps and eventually being in fluid communication with the final container.
PARENTERAL DOSAGE FORM OF CARBOPLATIN
A parenteral dosage form having an infusion container filled with an aqueous solution in volumes ranging from 40 ml to 500 ml comprising 1 mg/ml to 2 mg/ml of carboplatin, wherein the solution contains known impurity of 1, 1-cyclobutanedicarboxylic acid in an amount of not more than 1.0% by weight of carboplatin and the solution remains physically stable when stored at room temperature.
Cabinet with integrated pick-and-place mechanism
A method of performing location teaching of a robotic arm includes maneuvering an end of arm tooling of a robotic arm to a predefined position of an interface object. The robotic arm is mounted within a mounting site of a mechanical mounting structure. The interface object is positioned on a sub-system of a medication dosing system that is mounted on the mechanical mounting structure. The interface object includes an alignment feature of a known size and shape. A sensor of the end of arm tooling is engaged with the interface object. An offset between the sensor and the interface object is determined based on an interaction between the sensor and the alignment feature. A position of the end of arm tooling is incremented with respect to the interface object along at least one axis. An actual position of the interface object is determined relative to the robotic arm.
COMPOUNDING DEVICE SYSTEM, SOFTWARE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE PROCESS OF COMPOUNDING ADMIXTURES
An exemplary compounding method of controlling a compounding device to prepare an admixture of at least two distinct material sources can include examining material source solutions for incompatibility of the ingredients and operating a first and a second pump to prevent one of the incompatible source solutions from entering a common flow path. The processing method can detect degradation of a fluid line by evaluating one or more of calibration error rate data, cumulative volumetric flow data, or cumulative pump operation data. The processing method can also selectively transfer a first group of source solutions using the first pump, receiving pump data from one or more sensors that sense actions of the pumps, applying fluid correction factors and calculating discrete pump movements, the pump movements being indicative of an amount of source solution displacement by a pump, and operating the pumps to selectively dispense the source solution amounts according to a preparation order.
MEDICAL FLUID COMPOUNDING SYSTEMS WITH COORDINATED FLOW CONTROL
A system for compounding precise amounts of fluid from one or more source containers into at least one target container is described. The fluid can be drawn from the one or more source containers via an intermediate measuring container such as a syringe pump actuated by a stepper motor or other electronic motor. A system controller can use a measured back EMF value of the motor to determine a pressure within a syringe pump, and control the operation of the motor based at least in part on the determined pressure. The determined pressures of a plurality of syringe pumps can be used to optimize the speed at which the syringe pumps dispense fluid from the source containers while avoiding an overpressure condition which can compromise a compounding process and damage one-way valves within the system.
MULTIPLE FLUID DELIVERY SYSTEM WITH MULTI-USE DISPOSABLE SET AND FEATURES THEREOF
A multi-fluid injector system having a powered injector having a housing enclosing at least one reciprocally operable piston is described. The injector system includes a multi-use disposable set (MUDS) connectable to the powered fluid injector. The MUDS has at least one syringe having a proximal end and a distal end and a plunger reciprocally movable by the at least one piston element within a syringe interior between the proximal end and the distal end; a manifold in fluid communication with the distal end of the at least one syringe; at least one valve in fluid communication with the syringe interior, the at least one valve operable between a filling position for filling the syringe interior with fluid and a delivery position for delivering the fluid from the syringe interior; and at least one connection port in fluid communication with the manifold and the syringe interior when the at least one valve is in the delivery position. The injector system further includes a coupling mechanism for operating the at least one valve between the filling position and the delivery position. Various features of the MUDS assembly and methods of interaction between the injector system and the MUDS assembly are also described.
APPARATUS FOR DRUG PREPARATION, WEIGHING DEVICE INCLUDED IN THE APPARATUS, AND METHOD FOR DRUG PREPARATION
Apparatus for drug preparation, comprising: a first rotor adapted to support a first container for the drug and available, in a releasable manner, on the first rotor; a second rotor adapted to support a plurality of second containers, each containing a respective ingredient; pumping means, controllable by a control unit so as to transfer each ingredient from the respective second container into the first container; a weighing device, adapted to weigh the first container and comprising a translation means, a loading cell and at least one spacer adapted to support the first container. In a condition where the spacer supports the first container by decoupling it from the first support element, the loading cell is adapted to continuously generate, during the transfer of the ingredient, a quantity indicative of a weight force.
Liquid medication dispensing machine
A liquid medication dispensing machine capable of stirring a liquid medication contained in a liquid medication bottle in the machine with a simple structure is provided. The liquid medication dispensing machine supplying a liquid medication from a liquid medication bottle (23) containing the liquid medication to a prescription bottle includes a holder (78) holding a bottom (23B) of the liquid medication bottle (23), and a rotationally driving unit (61) generating rotary force and rotating the holder (78) and the liquid medication bottle (23) held by the holder (78) around a rotation axis (L3) extending along a center line (L2) of the liquid medication bottle (23).
