ROTARY VALVE PUMP FOR AUTOMATIC DRUG COMPOUNDER
20220040044 · 2022-02-10 ·

Various aspects of the subject disclosure relate to a compounder system having a cartridge that includes controllable fluid pathways. One or more rotary piston pump/valves may be used to move fluid and/or gasses through the various fluid pathways of the cartridge. For example, the cartridge may include a dedicated rotary piston pump/valve for each process that moves fluid and/or gas through the cartridge. When turning, the rotary piston pump/valve acts as a pump to move the fluid or gas, and when the rotary piston pump/valve stops turning, it effectively acts as a shutoff valve, preventing any fluid flow. Magnetic couplers for the cartridge may be provided on a pump head of the compounder system.

CLOSED-SYSTEM DRUG-TRANSFER DEVICES FOR SOLID DOSAGE FORMS
20220226196 · 2022-07-21 · ·

A closed-system grinding syringe (10, 110) is provided for liquefying and delivering a solid dosage form (20), including a barrel (22), a fluid port (30) disposed on a bottom wall (28) of the barrel (22), and a plunger (32). A head (36) of the plunger (32) is insertable into and moveable within the barrel (22) such that (a) a portion of the barrel (22) defines a closed-system syringe chamber (46) between the bottom barrel wall (28) and a lower surface (64) of the plunger head (36), and (b) a plunger-head annular seal (42) forms a fluid-tight seal between an outer surface (44) of the plunger head (36) and a cylindrical inner surface (26) of the barrel (22). A solid-dosage-form support disc (60, 360) is disposed below a bottom plunger wall (38) so as to define a grinding compartment (62) between the lower surface (64) of the bottom plunger wall (38) and an upper surface (66) of the solid-dosage-form support disc (60, 360), and is shaped so as to define a plurality of holes (68, 368) through the solid-dosage-form support disc (60, 360).

Needleless cartridge for automatic drug compounder

Various aspects of the subject disclosure relate to a compounder system having a cartridge that includes fluid pathways controllable by valves of the cartridge. A pump component within the cartridge is actuable to move fluid through the controllable fluid pathways. The cartridge includes a needleless fluid port and a needleless vent port for fluid coupling to a vial via a vial puck. The vial puck includes corresponding needleless fluid and vent ports and a cannula. The cannula is extendible, by insertion of a protrusion on the cartridge into a shaft of the vial puck, into the vial to couple the vial to the needleless fluid and vent ports.

INSTALLATION FOR PRODUCING A MEDICAL PREPARATION

The invention relates to an installation for producing a medical preparation, in particular for producing a preparation for parenteral nutrition. The installation comprises a pump with which liquids can be transferred from a plurality of source containers into a target container. The installation has a modular construction and comprises a weighing module and a main module with the pump. According to a further aspect of the invention, the pump is arranged at an inclination with respect to a vertical plane. According to a further aspect of the invention, the installation comprises cascaded valve nodes.

POOLING DEVICE FOR SINGLE OR MULTIPLE MEDICAL CONTAINERS

A medicinal fluid pooling device may be used to pool multiple containers of medicinal fluid to facilitate administration of the medicinal fluid to a patient. A medicinal pooling device may include spikes covered by spike sheaths which are pierced when a container of medicinal fluid is inserted into the medicinal pooling device. The medicinal pooling device may also include a cover configured to cover the spikes. The medicinal pooling device may also include a fluidic interface which may be used to fluidly connect the medicinal pooling device to an infusion pump or syringe.

PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOUNDING SYSTEM AND METHOD
20220202648 · 2022-06-30 ·

A pharmaceutical compounding system includes a plurality of vials and a receptacle. The system is arranged to remove substances stored within the vials and combine them within the receptacle to form a medication, and each vial is continuously maintained gripped within the system during preparation of the medication.

Compounding device, system, kit, software, and method

An exemplary compounding system and method can include two pump heads for simultaneously drawing two different fluids from at least two separate input containers such that the at least two different fluids are mixed and distributed to an output container. The system can include a manifold that maintains separation of certain of the different fluids until after passing by a first pump and a second pump and/or additional pumps. A junction can be placed in the fluid line downstream of the first and second pumps and/or additional pumps such that all or some of the fluids are mixed prior to output to the output container. The method of using the system can include incorporating software that selects various fluids at certain times and sequences to ensure optimum efficiency and safety for the system, and can continue compounding actions even when an input supply container runs out or otherwise fails to supply a particular fluid/material. The method of use also includes connection of a transfer set to a housing in a manner that further ensures optimum efficiency and safety.

LABEL READER FOR AUTOMATIC DRUG COMPOUNDER

An automatic drug compounder system may be provided with various components and capabilities for reconstituting a drug in a vial and providing the reconstituted drug to a receiving container. The system may include a camera for capturing images of the vial and processing circuitry for extracting information such as a lot number and an expiration date from the images. The system may rotate the vial while capturing the images to capture images of the entire vial. The processing circuitry may search a portion of the image for the lot number and expiration date, the portion based on stored information. The stored information may include a location, orientation, font size, or font color for printed information for a particular vial. The stored information may be retrieved based on a bar code read by the system.
