Apparatus and method for marking edible object
Disclosed is an edible object marking apparatus (1) wherein a carrier means (20) successively conveys an edible object to a detecting means (210), a marking means (220), and a marking inspecting means (230) while holding the edible object, wherein the detecting means (210) captures an image of the edible object to acquire orientational data indicating the orientation of the edible object, the marking means (220) forms a pre-set marking pattern in accordance with the orientation of the edible object based on the orientational data, and the marking inspecting means (230) captures an image of the edible object, extracts marking pattern data, compares the marking pattern data with pre-set reference pattern data based on the orientational data acquired by the detecting means (210) to thereby inspect marking accuracy. This edible object marking apparatus makes it possible to promptly and easily obtain edible objects provided with an accurate marking.
LASER-PRINTABLE TABLET, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A laser-printable tablet has: a tablet containing an optically unstable drug, a first cover layer that covers the tablet and contains a first color change-inducing oxide, and a second cover layer that covers the first cover layer and contains a second color change-inducing oxide, the concentration in which the second color change-inducing oxide is contained in the second cover layer being different from the concentration in which the first color change-inducing oxide is contained in the first cover layer.
TABLET PRINTING APPARATUS AND TABLET PRINTING METHOD
A first score line camera captures an image of one sides of a plurality of tablets being conveyed by a conveyor drum. During transfer from the conveyor drum to a first conveyor belt, all the tablets are turned upside down while their directional properties are maintained. A second score line camera captures an image of opposite side of the tablets being conveyed by the first conveyor belt. Based on image data about both the front sides and back sides of the tablets acquired by the first and second score line cameras, a first ink-jet head performs front-side printing process on a front side of a tablet to conform to a predetermined direction relative to a score line in this front side. The second ink-jet head performs back-side printing process on a back side of a tablet to conform to a direction on the back side same as the predetermined direction.
MEDICAL TABLET, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD AND MANUFACTURING APPARATUS FOR MEDICAL TABLET
An object is to provide a tablet manufacturing apparatus capable of supplying an IC chip to a desired position of pharmaceutical powder with a high accuracy and suppressing a positional displacement. The IC chip is supported by a positioning guide with a chip main body in a downward manner, and is held in a state of being positioned above pharmaceutical powder filled in a die hole before compression. The IC chip is supplied by a pusher.
Pharma-informatics system
An apparatus including a coil configured to receive a signal associated with a composition ingested by a user and a data storage element operatively coupled to the coil, the data storage element configured to store, based on the signal, at least one of time information, date information, or identity information associated with the composition.
System to monitor the ingestion of medicines
A system for monitoring ingestion of medicine (21) comprises forming a digestible radio frequency identification (RFID) tag (10). The RFID tag is attached to the medicine. The RFID tag and medicine are ingested. A signal from the RFID tag is monitored.
Communication system with partial power source
The system of the present invention includes a conductive element, an electronic component, and a partial power source in the form of dissimilar materials. Upon contact with a conducting fluid, a voltage potential is created and the power source is completed, which activates the system. The electronic component controls the conductance between the dissimilar materials to produce a unique current signature. The system can be used in a variety of different applications, including as components of ingestible identifiers, such as may be found in ingestible event markers, e.g., pharma-informatics enabled pharmaceutical compositions.

Laser Capsule Marking System and Method
A laser capsule marking system and method may comprise at least two indexing wheels, a feeding mechanism, a laser marker, a first inspection system, a rejection subsystem, a reject verification sensor, and a collection device. The wheels are coaxial and have respective circumferential peripheries with multiple open pockets distributed thereabout. Each pocket is configured to releasably receive a pharmaceutical capsule doped with pigment particles reactive to laser light. The indexing wheels are configured to be incrementally rotated in alternating indexing fashion for transporting discrete arrays of respective pockets through a loading zone, an inspection zone, a marking zone, a reject zone, and an unloading zone. An actuatable reject block may be provided to simultaneously blow a rejected capsule from its pocket, and draw it in for transport to a rejection bin. Each circumferential periphery may be comprised of multiple arcuate shoes removably and replaceably secured to their respective indexing wheel.
Communication system using an implantable device
The system of the present invention includes an implantable device that can detect high and low frequency current signature. The implantable device can communicate with a communication device that includes a conductive element, an electronic component, and a partial power source in the form of dissimilar materials. Upon contact with a conducting fluid, the communication device is activated.
