SIX-HIGH ROLLING MILL STAND AND FINISHING MILL TRAIN FOR HOT ROLLING AN INTERMEDIATE STRIP INTO A THIN STRIP
A six-high rolling (also known as sexto) mill stand that is suited for hot rolling an intermediate strip into a thin strip that is less than 0.8 mm thick. A combined casting and rolling installation that includes the six-high rolling mill stand allowing for hot rolling in long uninterrupted sequences, without any change of the work rolls to obtain a strip with good geometry due to moderate rolling forces.

Method and Device for Changing the Temperature of Metal Strips in a Flatness-Adaptive Manner
The invention relates to a device for changing the temperature of a metal strip including means for changing the temperature of the metal strip by heating or cooling. By using means for conveying the metal strip, the metal strip is moved in the strip direction relative to the means for changing the temperature of the metal strip. The object of providing a device for changing the temperature of metal strips, which allows improved process control and improved flatness of the treated metal strip, is achieved according to the invention by a device in that means for changing the temperature of the metal strip include a plurality of individual temperature-control means which each heat or cool the metal strip only in some regions, and at least the position of a plurality of the temperature-control means can be individually changed translationally and/or rotationally relative to the metal strip.
FLATNESS OF A ROLLED STRIP
A method for improving the flatness of a rolled sheet or strip includes the application of differential cooling. A cooling agent can be selectively applied along the width of the strip. More cooling can be applied to the edges of the strip, where tension is greatest, to increase tension at the edges. The strip can be allowed to lengthen at these edges, which can improve flatness. In some embodiments, a closed loop flatness control system is used to measure the flatness of a strip and automatically adjust the differential cooling based on the measurement.

METHOD AND EQUIPMENT FOR COOLING ON A REVERSING HOT ROLLING MILL
The invention relates to a hot reversing mill equipped with one or more cooling systems consisting of bars of nozzles spraying an aluminum blank. It also relates to the hot rolling process associated with this hot reversing mill wherein the cooling system serves at least once making it possible to produce aluminum sheets advantageously. It also relates to the process for rolling an AA6xxx series aluminum alloy wherein a blank is cooled during the hot rolling and a sheet obtained with this process. The invention makes it possible to enhance the productivity of reversing mills by enhancing the metallurgical quality and/or the productivity of the other fabrication steps. The invention is particularly useful for providing superior quality 6xxx alloy sheets intended for the automotive industry.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RAPID SUBSTRATE COOLING
Disclosed is a cooling system (104) and method for a metal processing system (100). The cooling system (104) includes a cooling header (114), an exhaust system (118), a temperature sensor (128), and a controller (130). The cooling header (114) selectively dispenses a coolant onto a metal substrate (110), and the exhaust system (118) removes heated coolant from the metal substrate (110). The temperature sensor (128) is downstream from the cooling header (114) and detects a temperature profile of the metal substrate (110) across a width of the metal substrate. The controller (130) is communicatively coupled to the cooling header (114) and the temperature sensor (128), and the controller (130) controls the cooling header (114) based at least on a detected temperature profile.
