The present invention provides a pill grinder including a housing containing a grinding mechanism which is driven by a drive means.

The grinding mechanism comprises first and second relatively rotatable grinding plates, between which a pill is ground. The pill grinder further includes a powder reservoir for receiving ground pill powder; and at least one juddering device which is operative to apply a vibrating force in order to dislodge ground pill powder from surfaces or recesses within the housing.

A versatile and effective manner to provide a single tablet or tablet arrangement or other medication delivery system for a combination of medications comprising of two or more active ingredients to be administered by, for example, severing along the score line to separate the active ingredients and to consume each active ingredient separately or in various ratios depending on the applicable pharmaceutical agent that a patient desires to ingest or otherwise administer. In some embodiments, a single tablet comprising of two or more active ingredients is administered by severing along score lines to separate the active ingredients to consume two or more active ingredients in combination. This delivery system provides a variety of alternatives to a consumer for administrating a combination of active ingredients while varying the relevant rations of the active ingredients. Simultaneous administration of medication is also provided by specific inhaler and syringe systems.

A multiple pill cutting device has a pivoting housing structure holding a blade holding assembly. The pivoting housing structure has a top housing pivotably connected at one end to a bottom housing. The bottom housing has a plurality of pill holding openings arranged in one or more rows. The one or more rows of pill holding openings have a slotted channel extending along a length of the bottom housing through and bisecting each pill holding opening. The blade holding assembly has one or more extending cutting blades. One blade is configured to align with each slotted channel when the top housing pivots closing onto the bottom housing, this moves the one or more cutting blades of the blade holding assembly to enter the slotted channels and cut pills held in the pill holding openings.

A tablet cassette includes: support points to support a swing member in a slit formed in a bottomed hole of a hollow rotary shaft; an engaged portion provided on a bottom wall portion of a container and spaced from the hollow rotary shaft to surround the rotary shaft; a swing member having a follower portion and an engaging portion located on different sides of the support points; and an urging member operable to move the engaging portion toward the engaged portion and move the follower portion into the bottomed hole. In a free state wherein the tablet cassette is detached from the base, the engaging portion engages with the engaged portion. When the tablet cassette is mounted to the base and the drive shaft is fitted into the bottomed hole, the follower portion is pushed out of the bottomed hole, and the engaging portion is disengaged from the engaged portion.

A crushing assembly (102) is coupled between the first sidewall and the second sidewall. A lever (110) is coupled to the first crushing plate, and is selectively movable between a first position (600) and a second position (700) to rotate the first crushing plate in a first radial direction (703). A cog insert (604), coupled between the first crushing plate and the second crushing plate, causes the second crushing plate to rotate in a second radial direction (704), opposite the first radial direction.

Described herein is a medication crushing, grinding, and administering device generally adapted to transform a solid pharmaceutical into a powered form for dissolving into a fluid within a syringe body. The device includes a plunger portion including the working portion of the device in the form of a blade generally extending from the plunger portion and configured for rotation. The rotating blade manipulated within an interior of the syringe body for generally breaking apart a pill within the syringe body for dispersal into a solution for administering.

A safe tablet cutting device includes a container, a cover, a cutter, and a suspension body. A platform in the container provides tablet positioning. First and second positioning elements are configured between a back end of the container and the platform. The cover is hinged to the back end of the container. The suspension body has its back end freely rotatable but confined between the first and second positioning elements when the cover is opened or closed. The suspension body has a slot opening corresponding to the cutter configured on the inside of the cover so that the cutter is properly concealed behind the suspension body and, when the cover is closed, gradually exposed to cut the tablet. The safety and applicability of the tablet cutting device is as such enhanced.
