A method and tooling for forming a cartridge case blank comprising backward extruding a tube from a length of wire stock in multiple backward extrusion steps with progressive tooling to obtain an intermediate blank that can be finish drawn without a preceding annealing step and which if otherwise not subjected to multiple backward extrusion steps, would require annealing prior to finish drawing to avoid tearing.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING THE FUNCTIONAL STATE OF A SHAPING TOOTH ARRANGEMENT ON A FORMING TOOL

In a method for monitoring a functional state of a shaping tooth arrangement on a forming tool, at measurement times which are temporally staggered with respect to each other at a plurality of measurement locations on the shaping tooth arrangement, a tooth arrangement force is measured which acts on the shaping tooth arrangement. At each of the measurement times for each of the measurement locations an instantaneous local tooth arrangement force is thereby determined. A previous instantaneous local tooth arrangement force and a subsequent instantaneous local tooth arrangement force are correlated with each other to determine a local state identification value. On the basis of the local state identification values associated with the measurement locations, information is obtained relating to the functional state of the shaping tooth arrangement.

ALUMINUM IMPACT EXTRUDED BOTTLE WITH THREADED NECK MADE FROM RECYCLED ALUMINUM AND ENHANCED ALLOYS

The present invention relates generally to forming a threaded neck in a metal bottle manufactured by a process known as impact extrusion. More specifically, the present invention relates to methods, apparatus and alloy compositions used in the impact extrusion manufacturing of containers and other articles with sufficient strength characteristics to allow threading the container necks to receive a threaded closure on the threaded neck.

Other embodiments include methods for manufacturing a slug material comprising mixtures of aluminum alloys for use in the impact extraction process, a container manufactured using the aluminum alloy in an impact extrusion process, and the container, wherein the material of the container is the aluminum alloy.

Headset assemblies and headset connectors are provided. Headset connectors can include a magnetic mating face and a plurality of electrical contacts disposed within the mating face. Engaging assemblies and engaging connectors are also provided. The engaging connectors can include a housing having a mating side, a magnetic array structure, and a plurality of spring biased contact members. The magnetic array structure can be fixed within the housing and house a plurality of spring biased contact members. The spring biased contact members can include tips that extend out of the mating side. The tips can electrically couple with electrical contacts in a headset connector.

Provided is a battery case lid (1) formed by working a metal plate, including: a substrate section (2) and an explosion-proof valve (4) formed in the substrate section (2), wherein the explosion-proof valve (4) has a reduced thickness section (41) thinner than the substrate section (2), and the reduced thickness section (41) is formed by extending the metal plate by applying pressure while the metal plate is kept unrestrained.

Disclosed is an impact extrusion can making system that uses induction heating to preheat an extruder punch and an extruder forming die, to increase yield during a cold start. In addition, a highly precise laser measuring device is used to measure dome thickness, so that stroke length and/or position of an extruder and/or extrusion die can be automatically adjusted in a predictive control system. High quality products with high yield are produced using these techniques.
