Impact extruded containers from recycled aluminum scrap
Novel recycled aluminum alloys are provided for use in an impact extrusion manufacturing process to create shaped containers and other articles of manufacture. In one embodiment blends of recycled scrap aluminum are used in conjunction with relatively pure aluminum to create novel compositions which may be formed and shaped in an environmentally friendly process. Other embodiments include methods for manufacturing a slug material comprising recycled aluminum for use in the impact extraction process.

In the context of a forming method for producing a helical toothing of a cylindrical workpiece by extrusion, a relative movement of a forming tool and of a workpiece blank carried out in a peripheral direction of the forming tool and of the workpiece blank is superimposed on an axial forming movement of the forming tool and of the workpiece blank. Due to a forming relative movement of the forming tool and of the workpiece blank resulting from the mutual superimposition of the axial forming movement and the forming movement in the peripheral direction, the helical toothing of the workpiece is produced on the workpiece blank, in that the forming tool engages, with a shaping helical toothing, in the workpiece blank during the resulting forming relative movement. A forming machine is designed to carry out the aforementioned method.

In the context of a forming method for producing a helical toothing of a cylindrical workpiece by extrusion, a relative movement of a forming tool and of a workpiece blank carried out in a peripheral direction of the forming tool and of the workpiece blank is superimposed on an axial forming movement of the forming tool and of the workpiece blank. Process and installation for manufacturing metal containers and the metal container obtained with the process. The process includes supplying a metal disc, extruding the disc to form a metal container, applying a coating on the inside of the container, deforming the open end of the container to obtain a neck with a curled portion. The curled portion is pressed to obtain a flat surface in a plane normal to the main axis of the container. The process further includes machining the curled portion that has been previously pressed to remove the coating from the curled portion, leaving the metal of the container exposed.
METHOD AND MECHANICAL ARRANGEMENT FOR PRODUCING A PROFILE ON A PLASTICALLY DEFORMABLE WORKPIECE BY AXIAL FORMING
In the context of a method for producing a profile on a plastically deformable, preferably cylindrical, workpiece by axial forming, a relative movement between a shaping tool profile provided on a forming tool and the workpiece to be formed is carried out during a forming process in order to produce a workpiece-side profile having a workpiece-side profile length. During the relative movement between the shaping tool profile and the workpiece to be formed, an oscillating relative movement between the shaping tool profile and the workpiece to be formed is created, in which a forming stroke and a return stroke in the opposite direction to the forming stroke are alternately carried out. The forming process in progress is varied with respect to the oscillating relative movement. A mechanical arrangement is designed to carry out the aforementioned method.
