Special-purpose die for shaping aluminum-magnesium alloy by rotating extrusion
A special-purpose die for shaping an aluminum-magnesium alloy by rotating extrusion is provided, including a male die and a female die, wherein a trapezoidally-sectioned groove is formed at an end portion of a working area of the male die, an inner portion of the male die is hollow, with the hollow inner portion having sections of equal area, a circumferential wall of a die cavity of the female die is provided with at least two symmetrical axial grooves, and a cavity is formed inside a clamping part of the female die. The present disclosure remarkably reduces the axial extrusion force such that the deformation of the formed workpiece is more uniform, which greatly improves the mechanical property of the formed workpiece.
Equal channel angular pressing of multi size copper wire
A process to fabricate ultra-fine grain metal wire, comprising: inserting a plurality of metal strands into a flexible elastic polyurethane sheath having an accommodating slot for each of the strands of metal to form a sheathed strand assembly; equal channel angular pressing (ECAP pressing) the sheathed strand assembly through an ECAP die having a plurality of die channels corresponding to the plurality of metal strands. The process is designed to improve electric conductance and mechanical properties of elongated metal parts and is especially applicable to optimize the conductance and tensile strength of copper cables, wires, strings, and rods.
Coated extrusion tool
Provided are extrusion tools such as extrusion dies or portions thereof having a surface with at least one coating thereon, and methods of forming the same are disclosed. The at least one coating is formed from a composition that is a metal aluminum nitride or carbonitride with particular characteristics such that the amount of aluminum varies within the coating between a coating outer surface and an intermediate thickness within the coating. The resulting coatings have tailored physical and performance characteristics that result in improved wear and extrusion performance.
IRON-BASED SINTERED ALLOY AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
Produced is an iron-based sintered alloy in which hard particles derived from a titanium carbide powder are dispersed in the form of islands in a matrix comprising a two phase structure of austenite+martensite. The iron-based sintered alloy is obtained by mixing the titanium carbide powder, a Cr powder, a Mo powder, a Co powder, a Fe powder and a powder of Al, Ti or Nb so as to obtain a mixed powder that contains, in terms of mass %, 20-35% of titanium carbide, 3.0-12.0% of Cr, 3.0-8.0% of Mo, 8.0-23% of Ni, 0.6-4.5% of Co and 0.6-1.0% of Al, Ti or Nb, with the balance Fe, and then subjecting the mixed powder to cold isostatic compression molding, vacuum sintering and solution treatment.
FORMING DIE FOR PRESSURE-FORMING WORKPIECES AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A FORMING DIE FOR PRESSURE-FORMING WORKPIECES
A forming die for pressure-forming workpieces comprises a die core and a core reinforcement in the form of a reinforcement member made of fibre-reinforced plastics material. The reinforcement member is radially pretensioned against the die core and comprises a plastics matrix and a reinforcing fibre structure which is embedded in the plastics matrix and which extends in the peripheral direction of the die core. A method for producing the forming die includes applying the the fibre-reinforced plastics material to the die core so as to produce a radial pretensioning of the reinforcement member against the die core.
