WINDING MACHINE
A winding machine (10) for winding and/or unwinding band-shaped or strip-like material (12) has at least one rotary plate (16), which is arranged on a pivot arm (24) and can be driven by means of at least two opposite coupling elements (20, 22), at least one coupling element (20) being associated with the rotary plate (16), and the rotary plate (16) being transferrable by means of a pivot device (30) between at least one decoupled state and at least one coupled state. Because the coupling elements (20, 22) can be positioned opposite one another in a coupling position in a sensor-based manner, this allows a coupling process which is as wear-free as possible.
WIRE TREATMENT METHOD AND APPARATUS
A demountable wire carrier 100 is for supporting loops of wire W and comprises a lower end-stop 110, an upper end-stop 120 and a plurality of frame members 130 extending between the end-stops. The carrier is shown standing inside a cylindrical loop-forming container 140 into which the wire W has been fed in the direction of Arrow A, so that the wire forms loops around the inside of the container wall. The introduction of the wire takes place when, prior to assembly of the carrier, only the lower end-stop 110 is positioned inside the container, so that the loops of wire rest on the lower end-stop 110. After all the wire has been introduced into the container 140, the frame members are connected to the lower end-stop, and the upper end stop is then connected to the frame members to complete assembly of the carrier.

Mandrel with compensating grip
A mandrel with a compensating segment, gripper bar, and external body segment making up a key piece configuration. The configuration adjusting the travel path of metal sheet being wound around the mandrel. The metal sheet thereby being wound without resulting imperfections which occur naturally when wrapping material around a cylinder.

AUTOMATED ROD COIL CUTTING STATION
Disclosed within are various embodiments that provide for an automated rod coil cutting station for both ferrous and non-ferrous wire rod mills.
ROBOTIC SURFACE INSPECTION ADJACENT OR IN A COIL AROUND A MANDREL
A strip of metal entering or exiting a mill can be redirected about a roller so as to define an angled segment of the strip of metal, with the angled segment extending away from the roller and arranged at an angle relative to the roller. The angled segment can be connected with a coil that is rotated about a mandrel such that a magnitude of the angle of the angled segment changes as the coil is enlarged or reduced by the rotating of the mandrel. A sensor of a surface inspection system can detect a characteristic of a surface of the strip of metal in the angled segment or in the coil. The sensor can be robotically moved to modify a distance and/or an orientation of the sensor of the surface inspection system relative to the surface.
Sectional drain cleaner cable system for clean use, storage, and transport
Various storage containers are described for retaining drain cleaning cables. Storage systems utilizing the containers with a cable guide assembly are further described. Also described are methods of using the containers and systems.

Coiled material passing device and coiled material passing method
A coiled material passing device is usable to pass a coiled material played out by an uncoiler to a leveler feeder configured to correct any winding curl of the coiled material. The coiled material passing device includes a clamper configured to clamp a starting end of the coiled material played out from the uncoiler, a moving body configured to support the clamper, the moving body being movable between the uncoiler and the leveler feeder, and a first driver configured to move the moving body.
