SINGLE-USE MULTI-COMPARTMENT BABY FORMULA POUCH
A single-use, multi-compartment infant formula pouch is disclosed. The pouch includes a substantially flat, flexible body formed from a laminate material including an aluminum foil layer. It contains two internal compartments: one pre-filled with powdered infant formula and the other with purified or distilled water. The compartments are separated by a frangible heat seal that ruptures upon applied pressure, enabling mixing just prior to use. The pouch also includes an integrated silicone nipple sealed beneath a removable cap, with the nipple secured into a spout by an internal locking ring to prevent user disassembly. During manufacturing, the pouch is filled under sterile conditions, including nitrogen gas injection and humidity control, to ensure long shelf life and inhibit microbial growth. The result is a tamper-evident, ready-to-feed, disposable system requiring no additional components or assembly.
Dispensable food container
A dispensable food container has a container body having an interior for receipt of dispensable food, and a container lid. The container body has a base and an opening opposite the base, and side walls that are collapsible. The lid has a closed condition in which it closes and seals the opening of the container body and an open condition in which the opening of the container body is exposed for access into the interior. The lid has a dispensing opening which is in communication with the interior of the container body when the lid is in the closed condition. In use, when the lid is in the closed condition, the container body is collapsible by pressure applied to the lid and the base in opposite directions to cause the side walls to collapse and to force dispensable food within the interior of the container body through the dispensing opening.
Flowable food feeding device
A container for feeding a patient includes a deformable receptacle having a cavity for holding a flowable food product and a rigid cover attachable to the upper end of the deformable receptacle. The rigid cover may have a male feeding tube connector that is uniquely connectable to a female feeding tube connector of a feeding tube or may have a female feeding tube connector that is uniquely connectable to a male feeding tube connector of a syringe. With the male and female feeding tube connectors connected, the deformable receptacle and the feeding tube or syringe are in fluid tight fluid communication to allow the flowable food product to be forced out of the opening of the deformable receptacle and into the feeding tube or syringe when the deformable receptacle is squeezed.
Infant feeder
An infant feeder has a handle with a proximally extending tongue and a pouch assembly for fitting over the tongue. The tongue has first and second axially spaced apart detenting structures. In a first configuration, a pouch assembly detenting structure is engaged with the first tongue detenting structure. In order to achieve a second configuration, a predetermined axial force is applied to the pouch assembly relative to the handle, so as to disengage the pouch assembly detenting structure from the first tongue detenting structure, slide the pouch assembly distally down a sidewall of the tongue and engage the second tongue detenting structure. This decreases the size of the food volume bounded by the pouch assembly and the tongue, and proximally displaces any food contained therein.
