A rotary bending device for bending workpiece includes a saddle, a rocker, and first and second alignment elements. The saddle includes a longitudinally extending cavity in which the rocker is received, and the rocker rotates relative to the saddle between a neutral position and a bending position for bending the workpiece. The first alignment element is provided on the rocker, and the second alignment element is positioned to engage the first alignment element to limit axial movement of the rocker relative to the saddle during rotation of the rocker between the neutral position and the bending position. The rocker may tangentially contact a bearing surface of the cavity at no more than two lines of tangential contact during rotation. The rocker may further include a longitudinally extending shoulder, and the device may further include a return element positioned to contact the shoulder for biasing the rocker toward the neutral position.

This disclosure relates to tools for punching machines for reshaping at least one portion of a plate-shaped workpiece. The tools have a first tool portion that includes a first device configured to be held in a first tool holder of the punching machine and a bending stamp having a bending edge and a second tool portion comprising a second device configured to be held in a second tool holder of the punching machine and a bending roller configured to cooperate with the bending stamp to reshape the plate-shaped workpiece. The bending roller is rotatable around a rotation axis running parallel to the bending edge. The bending roller comprises a sector-shaped notch formed along the rotation axis and formed, at least in part, by first and second bending shank edges.

The bending roller comprises a plurality of second bending segments positioned on the rotation axis to rotate about the rotation axis.

The machine body is configured to absorb bending forces occurring in the advancing direction of the upper tool holder and bending forces occurring during pivoting of the pivotable tool holder depending on the progress of the bending process.

The bending machine comprises a first clamping jaw, a second clamping jaw that is mounted movably relative to the first clamping jaw and configured to clamp, together with the first clamping jaw, the workpiece in a clamping plane, and a bending unit that is arranged on one of the clamping jaws and has a bending tool, the bending unit being configured to bend a portion of the workpiece by moving the bending tool relative to the associated clamping jaw to form a fold. The method comprises producing a pre-seam on the workpiece such that it is located in an area in front of the clamping jaws, comprising forming a fold, wherein the pre-seam extends at an angle relative to the clamping plane, and changing the angle by displacing the bending tool.

The bending machine comprises a first clamping jaw, a movable second clamping jaw configured to clamp, together with the first clamping jaw, the workpiece, a first bending unit arranged on the first clamping jaw having a first bending tool, and a second bending unit arranged on the second clamping jaw having a second bending tool. The method comprises clamping the workpiece with the clamping jaws such that a protruding portion of the workpiece protrudes from the clamping jaws, moving one of the two bending tools into a counteraction position such that it rests against the protruding portion at a distance from the clamping jaws, and extending the other bending tool such that it presses against the workpiece so that a recess is formed in the workpiece.

The manipulation device carrier is configured in an L-shape and has a first limb, which extends along a Y-axis, and a second limb, which extends along the Z-axis. The manipulation arm guide is formed on the second limb, and a distance between the manipulation arm guide and the rotational axis of the first rotary punch is greater than 1000 mm.
