According to the invention, the horizontal wall section and the two side wall sections in a cross section perpendicular to a lengthwise extension of the guide rail form at least for a portion the three side lines of a triangle, wherein the horizontal wall section defines a distal wall of the hollow profile.

A unique method of manufacturing the roof panel employs a roll machine configured to shape a piece of sheet metal into the roof panel by modifying the shape in many small increments, which allows the final product to have a fairly intricate bend pattern.

A method for trim loss optimization for metal industries includes receiving a selection of one or more orders for metal trimming. The method also includes inputting the one or more orders and multiple machine parameters to a dimension conversion engine, the dimension conversion engine configured to determine a roll width and a roll length for optimally fulfilling each order using decomposition of a three dimensional problem into a two dimensional problem based on spatial decomposition. The method also includes identifying at least one metal forming or conversion machine for processing the one or more orders. The method also includes inputting one or more metal tolerances as edge trim parameters to a trim algorithm. The method also includes determining, using the trim algorithm, a number of parent rolls for fulfilling the one or more orders using the at least one metal forming or conversion machine.

A roll bending apparatus includes: a roll pair formed by a pair of rolls disposed facing each other, the roll pair being configured to sandwich an elongated material between the rolls to perform forming on the elongated material; a slide mechanism configured to slide the roll pair in a first normal direction that is a direction normal to a conveying direction of the elongated material on a plane including the conveying direction; and a tilt mechanism configured to rotate the roll pair about a tilt axis that extends in a second normal direction that is a direction orthogonal to the conveying direction and the first normal direction. The slide mechanism further slides the roll pair to change a position of the roll pair relative to the tilt axis.
