TURRET ROLL FORMERS, FORMING ROLLER CASSETTES AND RELATED ARTICLES AND METHODS
A turret roll forming machine includes at least one turret assembly carrying multiple rows of tooling (e.g., forming rollers), rotatable about an axis to selectively align rows of tooling with an input or output. A transmission is accessible from an exterior of the turret assembly without disassembling of the turret assembly to perform a changeover of roll tooling and/or maintenance on gears, bearings, or shafts of the transmission. Thus, a chain drive may be employed, advantageously accommodating differing rotational speeds for top and bottom forming rollers of each pair of forming rollers, e.g. to reduce roll scuffing. Pairs of forming rollers may be provided as cassettes, which are removably coupleable to the turret assembly allowing quick and easy reconfiguration and/or servicing, minimizing negative effects of changeover. The turret assembly may be a unitary structure (e.g., a weldment) improving rigidity and increasing accuracy of roll forming operations.
ARCUATE MOUNTING BRACKET AND FABRICATION SYSTEM
An arcuate mounting bracket fabrication system includes a powered roller conveyor for receiving blanks to be formed into arcuate connection brackets. A roll form assembly received the blanks and includes a plurality of roll forming dies for incrementally bending portions of blanks to form straight flanges terminating in lips. An entry assembly carried by the powered roller conveyor positions the blanks entering the roll form assembly. An arcuate flange forming apparatus for forming arcuate flanges in the roll formed blank receives roll formed blanks from a transfer mechanism.
Method of aligning a flat or profiled metal sheet
A method of aligning a flat or profiled metal sheet with preformed notches on the two sides of the metal sheet when the sheet enters into a bender or folding machine directly from a roll forming machine linked or joined to the folder. The metal sheet has to be effectively aligned on the folder before folding to avoid potential damages to the metal sheet of not being properly squared or angled on bending while reducing the times to produce the folded products. Moreover, this method according to the invention allows the metal sheet to feed directly into the folder from the rollformer without having to pass through an intermediary transfer table or aligning device/machine before entering the folder for folding or manual alignment in the folder.
STRETCH ROLLING DEVICE AND STRETCH ROLLING METHOD
Stretch-rolling device (1) and stretch-rolling method for pressure-forming workpieces (W) by rolls, the stretch-rolling device (1) having: a pair of work rolls with two rolls (10), which can each be rotated about their roll axes and form a roll gap between them, the rolls (10) implement a plurality of stages (S1 to S4) in the axial direction, which are set up for the stepwise deformation of the workpieces (W) by the workpieces (W) passing through the stages (S1 to S4) successively; a manipulator (20) with a plurality of gripping devices (21) which are arranged on a working side (AS) of the pair of work rolls and are set up to grip the workpieces (W) and at an assigned stage to guide the workpieces through (S1 to S4) the roll gap in a feed/retraction direction; a support (30) arranged to temporarily support workpieces (W) and in cooperation with the manipulator (20) to transfer the workpieces to another gripping device (21), preferably the adjacent gripping device (21) of the next higher stage (S2 to S4).
STRETCH ROLLING DEVICE AND STRETCH ROLLING METHOD
Stretch-rolling device (1) and stretch-rolling method for pressure-forming workpieces (W) by rolls, the stretch-rolling device (1) having: a pair of work rolls with two rolls (10), which can each be rotated about their roll axes and form a roll gap between them, the rolls (10) implement a plurality of stages (S1 to S4) in the axial direction, which are set up for the stepwise deformation of the workpieces (W) by the workpieces (W) passing through the stages (S1 to S4) successively; a manipulator (20) with a plurality of gripping devices (21) which are arranged on a working side (AS) of the pair of work rolls and are set up to grip the workpieces (W) and at an assigned stage to guide the workpieces through (S1 to S4) the roll gap in a feed/retraction direction; a support (30) arranged to temporarily support workpieces (W) and in cooperation with the manipulator (20) to transfer the workpieces to another gripping device (21), preferably the adjacent gripping device (21) of the next higher stage (S2 to S4).
Roll stamping apparatus and method
A roll stamping apparatus includes sets of rollers rotating while facing each other so as to press opposite surfaces of a material which is continuously supplied to move between the rollers; and molding portions having a stamping structure applied to outer surfaces of the sets of rollers so as to mold the material, wherein a plurality of sets of rollers are disposed in a movement direction of the material, the molding portions of the sets of rollers are formed to sequentially change a cross section of the material in the movement direction of the material, wherein at least one of the sets of rollers before a final set of rollers through which the material finally passes is a set of over-molding rollers having molding portions of which a length in a circumferential direction is longer than a length of the molding portions of the final set of rollers.
Apparatus for and method of manufacturing roll-formed component
To a fulcrum roll unit portion in a workpiece, a corresponding initial curvature radius is applied, and to a bending roll unit portion in a workpiece, a corresponding design curvature radius is applied. To an intermediate unit portion in a workpiece, an intermediate curvature radius set so as to continuously change from the initial curvature radius to the design curvature radius is applied. At least one of the fulcrum roll and the bending roll is moved on the basis of an integrated value obtained by integrating the amount of change in bending position in each of the intermediate unit portion and the bending roll unit portion.

Device and method for the flexible roll forming of a semifinished product
The invention relates to a device (10) for the flexible roll forming of a semifinished product (12), in particular a rolled sheet, to form a profile (12′, 12″) with a cross section varying along the longitudinal axis thereof and/or with a varying longitudinal axis. The device (10) has a frame (14) and a number of supporting devices (16), which are carried by the frame (14). The supporting devices (16) are each movable in a translational manner in relation to the frame (14) and rotatably mounted. The device (10) also has a number of profiling units (18), which each have a pair (20) of rotatably mounted rollers (20′, 20″), between which a rolling gap (102) remains. According to the invention, precisely two profiling units (18) are arranged in a rotatably mounted manner on each supporting device (16).
Roll bending apparatus
A roll bending apparatus includes: a roll pair formed by a pair of rolls disposed facing each other, the roll pair being configured to sandwich an elongated material between the rolls to perform forming on the elongated material; a slide mechanism configured to slide the roll pair in a first normal direction that is a direction normal to a conveying direction of the elongated material on a plane including the conveying direction; and a tilt mechanism configured to rotate the roll pair about a tilt axis that extends in a second normal direction that is a direction orthogonal to the conveying direction and the first normal direction. The slide mechanism further slides the roll pair to change a position of the roll pair relative to the tilt axis.
