CO-EXTRUDED ROLL-FORMED ROOF DITCH MOLDING WITH END FORMED FEATURE
An apparatus and method, according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, cutting opposing notches in side edges of a flat metallic strip to provide a flat notched strip with pairs of notches extending along a length of the flat notched strip. The flat notched strip is rolled formed to provide a profiled notched strip and a flexible material is extruded to cover the profiled notched strip to provide a roof ditch molding. The roof ditch molding is cut at notch locations to achieve a desired molding length extending between molding cut ends comprising tabs, and a pattern of flexible material is removed from the notches associated with the molding cut ends. The tabs are bent to provide final formed ends for the roof ditch molding.
Apparatus and method for support and controlled advancement of a metal sheet in a bending machine for obtaining cylindrical or truncated cone structures
An apparatus for the support and the controlled advancement of a sheet in a bending machine for forming a cylindrical or conical structure, in particular of a truncated cone structure, comprises a base structural frame adapted to be positioned upstream of said bending machine, with respect to an advancement direction of the sheet, a plurality of conveying modules which can be mounted, removable, on the structural frame so as to generate a plan of modular support and advancement which can be configured geometrically according to the shape and dimensions of the sheet to be produced; the modular support and advancement plane is geometrically configured to keep the sheet metal part supported by the plane in a flat condition; an lifting and tilting device configured to vary the position of the structural frame, supporting the conveying modules, from a horizontal lying position to an inclined lying position in which the support and advancement plane is inclined downwards towards the bending machine; repositioning and position correcting members configured to orient and arrange the sheet in a correct position before starting a bending cycle and configured to correct, during the bending cycle, the position of the sheet to impose it a predetermined advancement trajectory towards and through the bending machine. The relative method is also envisaged.
APPARATUS FOR ROLL STAMPING
An apparatus for roll stamping that is capable of expanding a shape range of a product without limitation due to, for example, a radius of curvature or a height of a variable section includes: an inclined roll set including a first rotation roll and a second rotation roll rotating while facing each other, have fixed positions and angles, and are inclined with respect to a traveling material, in which a first forming portion for forming the material is formed on an outer surface of the first rotation roll, the first forming portion includes a first circumferential groove portion inclined at an oblique angle rather than a right angle with respect to a rotation shaft of the first rotation roll.

Process of forming and a seal for an engine
A process of forming a turbine engine seal includes the steps of: providing a flat strip of material; roll forming the flat strip of material forming an asymmetric profile in the flat strip of material; coiling the formed asymmetric profile into an overlapping ring shape; cutting the circular shape to a predetermined length; and joining ends of the predetermined length forming the seal. The seal includes at least two peaks that are formed on opposing sides of a gap. The at least two peaks contact opposing sides of a U shaped profile at a zero radius. The asymmetric profile includes a circular shape and the ends are joined.

Systems and methods for launch vehicle dome manufacturing
A method for forming a dome used in a launch vehicle includes cutting a disk from a plate, the disk having a first disk diameter. The method also includes forming a bend in the disk, the bend applying a curvature to at least a portion of the disk, the disk having a second disk diameter after the forming. The method further includes performing a first heat-treating process to the disk. The method also includes performing a second heat-treating process to the disk. The method further includes machining the disk to remove at least a portion of a thickness of the disk.
