SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BENDING METAL INCLUDING TANDEM PRESS BRAKES
20180133774 · 2018-05-17 · ·

Two press brake machines each using a single, central hydraulic actuator are provided. The press brake machines are configured to operate separately or in tandem, depending upon a size of a sheet metal workpiece to be deformed. A locking device that may include an upper connecting block and a lower connecting block is provided on each of the at least two press brake machines to allow the machines to interlock when the machines are adjacent to one another and are operating in tandem. The upper connecting block may be L shaped to help provide the interlocking. Interlocking of the press brake machines during tandem operation helps prevent distortion that can occur in the upper and lower portions of the ram due to the press brake machine's use of a single, central hydraulic actuator.

Conduit bender

A conduit bender to assist with the bending of a conduit includes a lever defining a longitudinal axis and having a free end and a fixed end, a head assembly configured to receive a conduit to be bent, a rotary assembly operably coupling the fixed end of the lever to the head assembly such that the lever is pivotable relative to the head to a position corresponding to desired bend angle, and a level disposed at the free end of the rotary lever and aligned on the longitudinal axis such that the level indicates a level condition when a conduit is bent to the desired bend angle.

DILATION APPARATUS WITH MALLEABLE FEATURE AND APPARATUS TO BEND MALLEABLE FEATURE

An apparatus includes a guide member configured with stress limiting features which function to prevent the stress from bending the guide member causing ovalization of the guide member. An apparatus for bending a guide member includes a ram die and a pressure die which are configured to fully encircle the portion of the guide member during the bending operation. A fixture for supporting a guide member during bending is configured to fully encircle sections of the guide member during bending.

Bender shoe ratchet

A bender shoe may comprise a first bender shoe plate, a second bender shoe plate, and a third bender shoe plate. A first side of the first bender shoe plate may be adjacent to a first side of the second bender shoe plate and the third bender shoe plate may be adjacent to a second side of the second bender shoe plate. The bender shoe may further comprise a ratcheting gear in a ratcheting gear opening in a second side of the first bender shoe plate. The bender shoe may comprise a first channel and a second channel. The first channel may be formed by a first surface on the first bender shoe plate and a second surface on the second bender shoe plate. The second channel may be formed by a third surface on the second bender shoe plate and a fourth surface on the third bender shoe plate.

A pipe bender includes a bender head including an arcuate rocker, an arcuate aperture defined in the rocker, a bending angle stop, and a pin assembly slidably coupling the bending angle stop to the rocker via the arcuate aperture. The bending angle stop may be disposed at least partially within the outer threshold of the bender head and may extend outward beyond the outer threshold of the bender head when the bending angle stop is secured to the arcuate rocker.

Fast change fold-a-way cross bow swing arm multiple die tubing bender

A tubing bender device includes a frame, handle, ratchet mechanism, slide rod and a frame notch. The tubing bender may be easily disassembled and assembled into a forward or reverse configuration through the use of connectors, two brackets and a bending mandrel. Reversibility is also provided by a cross bow bar support releasably secured to either the slide rod or to a bracket. The cross bow bar support may also be inverted to position die heads in either an upward or downward direction. Repositionable die heads may also be rotated relative to the support into an operative configuration when bending smaller diameter tubing. The repositionable die heads are rotated relative to the support into a non-operative configuration when bending larger diameter tubing.

Tube bending tool

A tube bending tool (1) comprising support surfaces (2, 2, 2), between said surfaces a tube (3), to be bent, is placed. A pressure exerting unit (6) with an extension (8) displaceable towards the tube (3), where a convex, bent bearing surface (10) is provided in order to press against the tube (3) when said extension (8) delivers a force from the pressure exerting unit (6). The front portion (9) comprises elongated elements (12, 12). The outer ends of the elongated elements (12, 12) comprise displaceable and movable support elements which press on the outer surface of the tube. The inner ends (13, 13) of the elongated elements are cross-laid and movable, so that they during bending, press in a direction towards the center of the bending radius of the tube (3), at the same time as different radii of the bend (5) can be provided on different places. There is also an optional limiting means for bends over 90 degrees.

Powered bending tool
09718108 · 2017-08-01 · ·

A powered bending tool comprises a portable drive housing including a handle and having a powered drive gear. A bracket is secured to the housing defining a pivot connection spaced from the drive gear. A driven gear is pivotally connected to the bracket at the pivot connection and operatively engages the drive gear. A center guide is connected to the bracket at the pivot connection. A support is operatively connected to the bracket at one side of and spaced from the pivot connection. An arm has a near end pivotally connected to the bracket at the pivot connection and a distal end having an arm guide at another side of the pivot connection relative to the guide. The arm is selectively engeagable by the driven gear to be rotated therewith. In use, a rod is positioned below the center guide and above the arm guide and a support, and the drive gear drives the driven gear to pivot the arm so that the arm guide deforms the rod as it engages the center guide at a bend point.
