Spherical roller bearing
A spherical roller bearing includes at least one outer ring and one inner ring and at least one rolling element disposed between the at least one outer ring and the one inner ring. The outer ring is axially enlarged with respect to the inner ring in a one-sided manner on a load-zone side of the spherical roller bearing.
Frameless half-round trailer with butt joints
A frameless dump trailer is provided. The frameless dump trailer includes a forward body portion and a rear body portion. Each body portion is formed from two or more panels joined together with butt-joint welds. The forward portion is first formed by welding planar sections together. After the body portion is formed from the plurality of planar panels, the larger planar portion is rolled in a rolling system to define the arcuate shape of trailer body. Then, the forward and rear body portions are welding together with a transversely extending butt-weld.
Vacuum Forming Method
A method for forming large titanium parts includes forming bends into a titanium plate for form a bent part. The bent part is then roll-formed to form contours into the bent part. The surfaces of the contoured part are rough-machined, and the part is then secured to a bladed form fixture. The bladed form fixture comprises a plurality of header boards that secure the part to the fixture. The fixture part is placed in a thermal vacuum furnace and a stress-relieving operation is performed. The part is removed from the fixture and final machining takes place.
Method for manufacturing core plate
A method is for manufacturing a core plate having an annular core back and teeth extending from the core back toward the center. The core plate is obtained by performing a punching step, a winding step, a straining step and an annealing step. At the straining step, compressive strain is applied to the core back or the band-shaped core back that is to be the core back after winding. At the annealing step, the core back or the band-shaped core back is annealed to be recrystallized after the applying of strain.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING A RING FROM A METAL SHEET
A method for manufacturing a ring includes clamping a first region of a metal sheet against a mandrel, and, while the first region of the metal sheet is clamped against the mandrel, bending the metal sheet around the mandrel to join opposite end faces of the metal sheet and form the ring shaped to the mandrel. A system for manufacturing a ring from a metal sheet includes (a) a mandrel having a ring-shaped surface, (b) a clamp facing the ring-shaped surface and configured to clamp a first region of a metal sheet to the mandrel, and (c) a plurality of dies configured to bend the metal sheet around the mandrel, while the clamp clamps the first region to the mandrel, to join opposite end faces of the metal sheet and form a ring shaped to the ring-shaped surface.
COMPLEX LASER FOLDING AND FABRICATION
Provided, among other things, is a method of cutting and folding a planar substrate with a focused laser beam, directed from above the substrate, to form a shape with features in 3-dimensions, the method comprising: (a) executing from above laser cuts to the planar substrate so as to provide one or more a releasable segments; (b) executing from above one or more laser-executed upward folds to bend all or a portion of a releasable segment; and (c) executing from above one or more laser-executed downward folds to bend all or a portion of a releasable segment; wherein the cuts and folds are structured so that precursors to the 3D shape remain attached to the substrate while sufficient cuts and folds are made to form the 3D shape, and wherein the planar substrate is immobile during said steps (a) through (c), or is only moved in the plane of the substrate.

DOWNHOLDING PRESS FOR PRODUCING A SEMI-FINISHED PRODUCT FROM SHEET-METAL MATERIAL HAVING THICKNESS-REDUCED REGIONS, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SHEET-METAL FORMED PART
The disclosure relates to a downholding press for producing a semi-finished product from sheet-metal material having thickness-reduced regions, wherein the semi-finished product after forming has regions with mutually dissimilar wall thicknesses and the downholding press has an upper tool and a lower tool as well as a downholding element, and a convexity on the sheet-metal material is generated between the upper tool and the lower tool such that the sheet-metal material is reduced in thickness in regions by elongation, wherein a blocking cam is configured on the downholding element in such a manner that a follow-on of the sheet-metal material is impeded.
MEDICAL PUNCTURE NEEDLE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING PUNCTURE NEEDLE
A medical puncture needle includes an end portion including a needle tip; and a main body portion contiguous with the end portion, having a substantially circular cross-sectional outer shape. The end portion includes a first bevel formed by a curved surface, the bevel having an angle that gradually decreases toward the needle tip in an axial direction, in a cross-section orthogonal to the axial direction, relative to an imaginary plane that extends along an axis of the main body portion.
