Can base forming
An apparatus for forming a base profile on a metal container carried on a punch moving along an axis. The apparatus comprises a die for forming the base profile on the container and a resilient support for holding the die in a resting position substantially along said axis whilst allowing the die to be deflectable perpendicular to said axis and providing a restoring force to return the die to the resting position.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PRESSED COMPONENT, AND SHAPE CORRECTION DIE
Warpage or torsion in a longitudinal direction is suppressed when an elongated curved component is manufactured by press forming. A method for manufacturing a pressed component includes a first step of press forming a metal sheet in a desired component shape using a first die, and a second step of press forming a formed product using a second die after the first step. In the second step, a cross section of a bent part and a vertical wall part are controlled to be opened depending on warpage at longitudinal end portions of the component by elastic recovery due to release from the first die, thereby suppressing the warpage.

The roller die is movably disposed within the chuck. The roller die unit actuating assembly is structured to actuate the roller die. The roller die unit actuating assembly is operatively coupled to the roller die. Further, all elements of the roller die unit actuating assembly have a robust cross-sectional area.

The sheet metal preform is cut at least in portions to form a cut sheet metal preform with a sheet metal preform The sheet metal preform is one of swagged and calibrated which has been cut at least in portions to form a substantially finished formed sheet metal component.
