A mold is for press molding a metal plate and a resin material to produce a metal-resin composite. The mold includes an upper mold and a lower mold that sandwich the metal plate and the resin material. A cavity for arranging the resin material is provided by the upper mold and the lower mold. The upper mold has a recess into which the resin material leaking from the cavity is caused to flow.

In a sectional view when viewed in the longitudinal direction, in a case where a virtual line connecting a first intersection portion where the first surface and the third surface intersect with each other and a second intersection portion where the second surface and the third surface intersect with each other is set, a third intersection portion where the fourth surface and the fifth surface intersect with each other protrudes outward with respect to the virtual line.

There is provided a reinforcement member for a vehicle which includes a cylindrical body section having a continuously closed cross section intersecting with a longitudinal direction. The cylindrical body section has a first surface, a second surface, and a third surface. The third surface has a fourth surface extending away from the second surface, and a fifth surface connecting the fourth surface and the first surface to each other. Provided is a forming system that expands and deforms a metal material to perform forming, the forming system including: a forming device that performs the forming; and at least one transport device that transports the metal material, in which the transport device transports the metal material to the forming device in a held state, in a case where a pretreatment device that performs pretreatment for the forming is present, the transport device transports the metal material to the pretreatment device in a held state, and during a period from a transport process in which the metal material is transported to any of devices by the transport device to a treatment process performed by any of the devices, at least one of the transport device and any of the devices continues holding the metal material.

A value stream method of manufacturing a plurality of vehicle structural rails includes feeding a coil of aluminum alloy sheet into a roll forming machine and forming a tubular shape with a seam, bobbin tool-friction stir welding the seam of the tubular shape and forming a welded tubular shape with a welded seam, cutting the welded tubular shape into a plurality of tubular sections, tube bending each of the plurality of tubular sections and forming a plurality of bent tubular sections, and hydroforming each of the plurality of bent tubular sections and forming a plurality of structural rails. The coil of aluminum alloy sheet may or may not be pre-treated and/or lubricated.

Apparatuses for stent shaping
An apparatus for crimping a radially expandable stent includes a pressure vessel, shaping balloon, and mandrel. The mandrel is configured to slidingly receive a stent thereon, and to be slidingly advanced into the pressure vessel. The shaping balloon is inflated to radially compress the stent onto the form of the mandrel; such compression need not be uniform. Pressurization of the shaping balloon facilitates the expansion of the balloon to achieve compression of the stent, with depressurization of the shaping balloon causing the balloon to return to an unexpanded state.

The tool includes at least three movable tool segments, which bound a shaping cavity for accommodating and shaping the workpiece. The movable tool segments, at least in some sections, completely form the shaping cavity in a closed state of the tool. A method for shaping a workpiece by internal high-pressure shaping is also provided.
