WINDOW SPACER FRAME PUNCH ASSEMBLY
20170074030 · 2017-03-16 ·

An apparatus and method is provided for forming a spacer frame assembly used in the construction of insulating glass unit windows. The apparatus comprises a head arrangement having a body with first and second ends, the first end for coupling to a cylinder that advances and retracts the head arrangement in a reciprocating motion during operation. The second end includes an annular wedge-shaped ridge for coupling to a second annular wedge-shaped ridge of a die support, collectively the wedge-shaped ridge and second wedge-shaped ridge form a contact region to form a torus surface. The die support has at least one die for engaging a spacer frame assembly during operation. The apparatus further comprises a collar having a torus-shaped recess corresponding with the torus surface to nest and couple the body to the die support.

HYDRAULIC HAND-HELD KNOCKOUT PUNCH DRIVER

A hand-held knockout driver includes a main housing having a handle portion, a motor positioned within the main housing, a pump assembly driven by the motor, and a secondary housing coupled to the main housing and defining a bore therein. The hand-held knockout driver also includes a working piston moveable within the bore from a rest position to an actuated position to define a piston throw distance therebetween. The hand-held knockout driver also includes a draw stud coupled to the working piston, a die coupled to the secondary housing, and a punch coupled to the draw stud opposite the working piston for movement therewith relative to the die. The die has a depth greater than the piston throw distance.

A metal band as an insert for trim strips, sealing strips, or edge protection strips, in particular for motor vehicles, wherein the surface is profiled at at least one flat side of the band to increase the adhesion between the metal band and a plastic or rubber coating. These metal bands can also be designed with a plurality of openings following one another in the longitudinal direction of the band, in particular cut and roll-stretched or punched slots.

Punch and die assembly

A punch and die assembly for a forming assembly for forming flared openings in commercial forming steel sheeting, includes a punch. The punch has a punching element having a base portion and a working portion that extends from a face of the base portion, the working portion defining a working edge with more than two substantially evenly spaced peaks and troughs for forming an opening in the steel sheeting during a working stroke. A flaring element is mountable on the base portion of the punching element, a side of the flaring element defining an arcuate flaring surface that tapers inwardly in the direction of the working stroke. A die supports the steel sheeting, the die having a die opening with a flared die face for facing the flaring surface of the flaring element such that the opening in the steel sheeting is flared by the flaring surface of the flaring element and the die face in the working stroke.

A line for producing metal profiles for plasterboard false ceilings has in sequence, along a profile advancement direction, a profiling machine, a cutting group, a punching group, a system for extracting finished metal profiles from the punching group, and a management and control unit. The punching group has a first punching press of the portal type having a first punching head elongated along a first operating direction, and a second punching press of the portal type having a second punching head elongated along a second operating direction, parallel to the first operating direction and staggered with respect thereto along the profile advancement direction. The first punching head is longer than the second punching head. The management and control unit is configured to alternately operate in use the first or second punching press as a function of type or length of the metal profiles in output from the cutting group.
