Pacifier which helps wean toddlers off pacifiers
A new and improved pacifier provides bristle like structures which discourages continued use of the pacifier by a child of appropriate age.
A LID FOR A DRINKING BOTTLE
The present invention relates to a lid (1) configured to be attached to a fluid container of a drinking bottle. The lid (1) comprises a body (5), and a spout (6) protruding from the body (5) and having a discharge opening (7) at a top portion (8) thereof. The body (5) is provided with a recess (10a-b) extending along a part of a transition (11) between the body (5) and the spout (6). The recess (10a-b) is configured to receive a portion of the lip of a user when the user drinks from the drinking bottle so as to make a spout remote elevation (14a-b) of said recess (10a-b) to bear against lip adjacent portions of the cheek of the user to thereby seal the lip portion received in said recess (10a-b) with respect to the environment. The invention also relates to a baby bottle provided with such a lid (1).
Oral administration coupler for back-of-mouth delivery
An improved oral administration coupler for delivery of fluids such as medications and nutritional fluids. Example oral administration couplers have a first end with an applicator for oral delivery to an infant, and a second end with a coupling compatible with an enteral fluid delivery syringe. A fluid delivery conduit extends in fluid communication from the first end to the second end, to deliver fluid from the syringe to the infant. In some example embodiments, the coupler is configured for back-of-mouth delivery, and can comprise a generally elongate and at least partially flexible tube or straw.
Teat
A teat including at least a shaft and a nipple, wherein structured surface areas are provided at least in a partial region thereof, and the structured surface areas are formed by at least one rough surface zone having a surface roughness of 100 m at the most, or 50 m at the most.
TEAT
A teat including at least a shaft and a nipple, wherein structured surface areas are provided at least in a partial region thereof, and the structured surface areas are formed by at least one rough surface zone having a surface roughness of 100 m at the most, or 50 m at the most.
TEATS FOR FEEDING BOTTLES
A feeding teat for use with a bottle that contains a fluid includes a nipple defining an orifice at a terminal end and an interior profile shaped by multiple intersecting reverse curves that generally decreases an interior diameter of the nipple toward the orifice for directing a flow of the fluid into the orifice, a flange configured to be releasably coupled to the bottle such that the fluid can flow from the bottle into the feeding teat, an intermediate portion integrally connecting the nipple to the flange, and a pressure relief valve extending laterally from the intermediate portion and configured to admit air into an interior region formed by the feeding teat and the bottle.
Inflatable container for feeding babies
The invention provides an elastomeric expandable container having a first opening adapted to enable the introduction of a comestible fluid under pressure to inflate the same, and a second opening provided in a nipple-like projection extending from said container and adapted for nursing babies, said second opening being closed by valve means, and said valve means being opened and closed by the natural nursing actions of the baby to enable fluid to flow under pressure of the inflated container through said nipple and out of the opening thereof.
Device and method for guiding latch-on
The invention proposes a device (1) and a corresponding method, wherein the device (1) comprises: a first element (10) to be attached to a breast of a breastfeeding mother; and a first marker (11) located on the outer surface (100) of the first element (10), wherein the first marker (11) is used for indicating a position of a mother's breast that the baby's lip is expected to contact in order to correctly hold the mother's breast. With the device (1) attached to the mother's breast, the first marker (11) indicates a position that the baby's lip is expected to contact, and the breastfeeding mother can have a clear view of whether the baby correctly holds the mother's breast according to the distance between the first marker (11) and the baby's lip.
BABY BOTTLE NIPPLE AND METHOD OF FORMING AN OPENING THEREIN
A method of forming a nipple for a baby bottle, comprises: forming a lower conical wall section; forming a higher conical wall section molded above the lower conical wall section; preventing deformation of the higher conical wall section; and cutting an opening through the higher conical wall section into an interior section of the nipple.
ARTIFICIAL TEATS HAVING IMPROVED MILK FLOW CHARACTERISTICS
It is important for the healthy growth of infants or newborn animals that any artificial teats or nipples that are used to feed them, are designed to provide consistent and measured flow rates when in use. Slits in the end of artificial teats or nipples are often used to provide openings for milk flow, and the slits naturally close to seal the end of the teats or nipples when not in use. However, slits need to be carefully aligned with the suckling action of the infant or newborn animal for the milk to flow at a correct rate. An artificial teat with a number of slits, each orientated at a different angle, and which are situated within a generally circular shaped valley or ridge that is formed in the end of the artificial teat or nipple is also disclosed.
